"all their letters have been useless. like they're speaking in riddles. i don't get it y/n... i was the one who saw Voldemort return. i was the one that told them in the first place that he's back... now they won't even tell me a drop of information? and they left me by the bloody Dursley's for the last month when they said they'd come get me... i don't know anymore. you're the only one that's cared enough to come."

Harry and i had been laying on our backs on the grass in the playground as he spoke. i was playing with his fingers as i listened. there was the slightest breeze in the air. the neighbourhood was very dull but the sun gave it a warm tint. i sigh, "they care Harry. of course they do... this will probably all make sense soon."

Harry and i had made small talk prior to this, he explained the whole Barty Crouch Junior being Mad-Eye Moody thing. how the Ministry and Dumbledore have parted ways...

Harry sighs and turns his body to face me fully, "i dont know... what i've picked up from the letters, Ron and Hermione are together somewhere... i dont understand what makes them more 'worthy' than me to know what's happening." he adds.

Harry was just full blown venting about every thought he'd had this summer. he says it's the first time he'd opened his mouth in the last month and it not being to argue.

i didn't know how to reply to his last statement, so i don't. i just continue looking up at the sky. Harry watches me though and stops my hand from playing with his fingers by taking it in his hand fully. he squeezes.

"how are you y/n?" Harry asks in a whisper.

i don't reply for a while. just watch the clouds moving overhead. "uhhh... i don't know Harry. honestly, it's still hard. like i'm grieving but i'm still in some sort of denial, i don't know." i reply softly.

Harry looks at me for a little longer before he shuffles closer and wraps his arms fully around me, leaving me eye level with his chest. he was resting his chin on the top of my head. i take his scent in and swallow the lump that had been forming in my throat.

"i'm so sorry i couldn't be there for the funeral... were you okay?" he asks

"no don't apologise, it's my bloody father's fault... and i mean, no not really. it was a rough day... i had Cho though at least? she was who i was with." i say

we probably looked like crackheads just laying and cuddling on the lawn of a children's playground, but we continued.

Harry notices my expression and he pulls the both of us to sit up. he was leaning on his one arm as he said, "there's an ice cream truck a few blocks down... wanna go grab some?"

i was not expecting that random offer but i wasn't gonna decline ice cream. "oh uh okay, yeah that sounds nice." i smile softly.

Harry stands up and offers me his hands. i take them and he pulls me up. we dust ourselves off and start heading up the road. as we're walking i notice that some people are watching us through their windows. i was about to question this when Harry was one step ahead of me.

"i'm the 'most troubled kid' in the neighbourhood. all of them think i go to this disciplinary school." he sighs.

"oh." i reply. i was not expecting that.

as we're walking i notice that the sun was starting to go down. i furrow my eyebrows. i think i arrived here at around 4pm? how is it sunset already??

"wasn't it just afternoon?" i think out loud.

Harry looks over and raises his eyebrow. "um... no? i don't think so?" he sounded very confused.

i know i sounded like an idiot to i attempt to play it off, "oh... no no nevermind. my bad."
