The year was 1998, and Grace had no idea that stopping at a bar on her way to Raccoon City on the 29th of September would lead her into an unfortunate series of events. What she thought would be a fun outing after getting assigned to the RPD, turned into her meeting someone who she would be paired with for the next few days. But we won't get to that yet. For now, let's start from the beginning of Grace's story, shall we?
Grace, or "Gracelynn Mae" as her parents called her, was a prodigy when it came to athletics. Though she was proficient in almost anything, she chose to take up gymnastics and martial arts as her main sports. Though an odd combo to most people, to her it meant being able to stay strong and healthy while also being flexible and able to control her body. Both of which were great traits to have when it came to either sport. Grace had a very loving and accepting family, that stemmed from her being an only child. Her parents never wanting their only little girl to dislike them, so you could say that she was a little spoiled growing up.
Grace was always in a private school. Her education was important to her parents and in the long run, it paid off for her. She excelled in school and with a little bit of tutoring she graduated in the top 3% of her class. Grace had always dreamed of being in the police force ever since she was a little girl. So, during high school when she told her parents that she was going into the force, they weren't surprised. In fact, they were incredibly happy and proud of her. You see, Grace had always had a sense of justice. Maybe that stemmed from her parents being lawyers, or maybe it was because she was a good person morally.
Her personality was not like the others, you see Grace was always nice to everyone, no matter what. Even if they were mean to her, which fat chance that they were. She was a beautiful and kind young woman, her emerald green eyes gleamed like the sun when talking to most. Her smile was pure and often captured the hearts of others. She was smart, loyal and overall, a very respectful person. Her aura rubbed off on those around her, she carried herself with such elegance and strength it was hard to not look up to her.
Fast forward to once Grace graduated, she immediately sent an application to her local police department. She was accepted instantly and went through rigorous training and multiple written tests, of course she passed with flying colors and ended up #2 in the entire district of Arklay County. A man by the name of Leon S. Kennedy had taken the #1 spot, who she had heard was assigned to the RPD same as her. She was more than excited to meet her peer; it wasn't every day that she met someone who excelled in schooling.
It was hard saying goodbye to her friends and family, but she was more than excited to start her career. Her whole life had been leading up to this moment, so she didn't look back as she bid her farewells and left for her new life in Raccoon City.
So here is where we start our story, on the night of September 29th, 1998.
