(after the raiden incident)
no one's pov
sitting in a large room, where they washed clothes, ayato sat by a table and a bucket filled with water. sitting in a white robe, ayato squeezed the water out of his regular outfit into the bucket. usually it would be thoma doing so, but for some reason he hadn't been home.
the doors slid open, and there was Aether, Ayaka, and Thoma. ayatos focus was directed to them immediately, as he set the piece of clothing on the side of the bucket.
"ah, welcome back." ayato greeted them. Aether gave a small wave and just smiled. "Ayato! you wouldn't believe what happened to paimon! paimon was so scared! paimon thought we were going to die!" paimon yelled.
"oh? what happened?" ayato said, placing his hands back on the clothing, about to start working on his clothes again. "oh! lord ayato, let me get that for you!" thoma said in a polite tone, walking over to him. "don't bother, i can do it myself." ayato looked up at him and said with a smile.
"thoma almost had his vision taken, and paimon thought paimon and traveller were going to die!"
paimon yelled. Aether gave a look at paimon, telling her to shut up. "oh really?"
"it's true, thanks to the traveller, thoma was spared, or that's a way you could put it." ayaka spoke.
"well, then we owe a favor to you." ayato smiled at aether. "no need!" Aether replied. "at least stay for the night, you look exhausted." ayaka said. "oooh! do yall have food?! paimon hungry after all that work!" aether look over at paimon. "exactly what work were you apart of?" he asked. "uh, paimon was stressed! that's a lot of work!" paimon said, crossing her arms and floating off. ayaka smiled at aether and followed paimon, then signaled for aether to follow.
"i'll go do some work around here! thank you for taking care of this for me, lord ayato!" thoma replied, referring to ayato cleaning his clothes. "no worries thoma, take the rest of your day off." ayato smiled. thoma looked puzzled, but ayato just focused on his work again. thoma smiled and ran off with ayaka, aether, and paimon.
"wait up!!" he yelled behind them.
