It's been about a week since school let out...and since I've seen Tom.
"Have you seen my red shirt"? Asked Jakina.
"It's in the landry room".
I just finished packing for the trip to meet my dad's fiancee.
"Hurry up, you guys have 5min. before we need to leave"!
Mama yelled from downstairs.
I zipped my suitcase up and ran downstairs.
"Hurry so we're not late to the airport".
"Yes mam".
I got into the passenger seat. Then everybody else put there luggage in the trunk and pilled in. The drive to the local airport is about 20min. We rushed through security and hoped onto the plane. The plane ride was nice . We got off the plane and walked to the nearest subway.
"Which one do we take"?
"This one".
We walked on and it was about 10min. till we got off. We got in a cab and were droped off at this apartment.
It was preety nice.
"Um...so where do we go now"? asked Jakina.
"Apartment B number 23".
We started walking towards the tall white bricked building. I could hear my heart beating, faster, and louder. Momma knocked on the door. We all stood there waiting to see who would open the door.
"May I help you"? asked a tall thick blonde lady.
I could see mamma choke on her words so I helped her out.
"Um...were looking for Tarel Carnell".
"Oh...he's in the living room".
We awkwardly walked pass her to walk into the living room, as soon as my sister saw my dad she made it known.
"Daddy"!
"Kin-Kin"! He yelled as he picked her up and gave her a bear hug.
"You've gotten so big"!
He put her down then moved to my brother who gave him a look of disappointment.
"Hey Josiah".
Daddy held out a fist, slowly Josiah gave him a fist bump. Then he saw momma.
"Good to see you again Jalema".
He waited in anticipation to see what she would say.
"Seeing you again...is...(she scoffed)nice".
Then he walked over to me.
"Short cakes...".
I didn't say anything for a minute I took a deep breath and said,
"Hi daddy".
He hugged me, but I didn't hug him back.
"So I see you've met Dian". Daddy said as we went over to the couch.
"Is she..."?
"Oh...no that's Rachel's sister".
"You didn't have to say it like that but, it's nice to meet you all".
"You as well" mamma said.
"Wait then were is Ms.Rachel"?
"Don't worry she's on her way she said she would be a little late".
