Pov Meri

"I have a boyfriend," she says with pink cheeks. I feel a grin coming on one side and I wonder something on the other. Why did it take her so long to get a boyfriend after Fox and me. She's such a nice girl. Maarja back to the subject again.

"Don't look at me like that," Sage laughs and playfully slaps me on my right shoulder. I mean, you can't call it hard hitting. It's more like a toddler version of tag. I'm still looking at her, grinning. "Who is it? Do I know him?" I ask her. "Yes, you know him," she says softly. I chuckle and pull her towards me. "Come on. Say it now" I laugh.

"It's Axel," she smiles from ear to ear.

"I didn't expect that," I chuckle sarcastically. "Ha ha ha" she mumbles. "He's better than anything you bring," she mutters. "Was that an insult?" I ask in mock hurt. "No, no, not really, sorry," she immediately apologizes. She is so extremely gullible. Unbelieveable. Do you understand him being gullible... unbelievable? Yeah never mind. Bad pun. But I'm having a great time on the single train. Single bells single bells single all the way. Yeah yeah.

"Hey mom" I say. She is cooking food and is all dressed up. "Hurry up, Sage's mom and Sage will be over for dinner soon." She says. "He was just here," I mumble, somewhat surprised. I open the top kitchen cupboard and pull out a pack of cereal. I jump up on the counter and grab a handful of cereal from the box. I stuff it into my mouth in one go, causing the hell to fall to the floor. "Tss Meri" Mom sighs and pulls the pack of cereal from my hands. "Hey, that's what I was working on," I shout with my mouth full. It probably didn't even sound like what I wanted to say. Probably just some syllables stuck together.

"You should be able to eat soon," she says and puts the pack away again. I sigh and roll my eyes. Like I couldn't do that. I jump off the counter and want to walk back upstairs. "Oh yeah and Meri. Please dress neatly. So no sweatpants and no shirt like now," she says sternly. "Yes bos" I shout. I salute and march on to the stairs.

I turn on the shower. I grab a pair of black pants from the closet and a white shirt that was hidden somewhere in the back of the closet. I also grab a pair of boxer shorts and walk back to the bathroom. I throw my clothes on the radiator and undress. I step into the hot shower. The warm rays hit my skin, causing me to have a spastic attack for three seconds.

I put some gel in my hair and nod approvingly in the mirror. Whatever. If I stay in the bathroom any longer, I'll start to look like a chick. As long as your hair suits you, I say.

I jump down the last few steps of the stairs. I swear. Just as my feet hit the ground the bell rings. I raise my hands in victory. Look folks, that's what we call perfect timing!!

I walk to the door and open it. Sage's mother is in the front and I see Sage standing behind it. "Hi ma'am," I smile at her. I step aside and let them in. "Heyy Meri" she smiles at me. "You look so chic," Sage laughs as she walks in. "Mom had to, if it were up to me, I would still be in just my sweatpants," I laugh.

She chuckles and continues to the kitchen.

"Hmm lasagna" I say enthusiastically when I see the bowl on the table. "Meri," Mom hisses at me. "What. I have to be happy with the little things, right? Well then I am very happy with a bowl of lasagna" I say and nod convincingly. Mom would facepalm herself. Yes, yes, I saw it. Sneaky.

I shove a full forkful of lasagna into my mouth. Hmm delicious. "Meri table manners," Mom hisses at me. I hear Sage chuckle softly. "Mom" Sage begins. "I have a boyfriend," she says at once. That went better than before, but is this the right timing? Both our parents next to each other. They'll soon think that Sage and I have a thing.

Sage's mother abruptly stops eating and quickly swallows everything. She shakes her head back and forth for a moment. "How long have you been together?!" she says enthusiastically. Ha! I told you all bitches!

"We're not together," I laugh. Mom sighs. Well, then I understand if you have a child like me. No kidding, I'm fucking awesome so fuck off, shouldn't you stop that player behavior? Of you.

"Then who is it?" Sage asks her mother in surprise. "Axel" Sage smiles from ear to ear again. "That weirdo who showed up at the door the other day?" her mother asks in surprise. "Yes, that one," Sage mumbles as I find it hard to contain my laughter. Axel will like it if I tell him this. Whahahah!

"Sage and Meri, you can do the dishes," our mother says at the same time. "Oh, okay," I chuckle. "Have to," Mom says quickly. "Okay then," I sigh and grab some plates on the table. Sage takes the glasses and walks to the kitchen. "I wash, you dry," I say quickly and run to the sink. I throw all the dishes in the sink. Strangely enough without them breaking.

"Meri, what happened there?" I hear mom calling. "Nothing. Just keep drinking tea and pretending you have something interesting to say!" I shout back to Mom.

"Okay then," Sage sighs, laughing, and takes a tea towel from the counter. I run the warm water and add some soap. I start washing the dishes and give the first clean plate to Sage.

The dishes are ready. I look at the remaining foam in the sink. I have a very nice idea. Sage probably won't like it that much, but whatever. I dip my hand in the soap so that there is now a whole blob of soap on my hand. "Hey Sage" I say innocently. "Hmm" she mumbles and turns to me. I put the soap on her face. "Meri!" she shouts. She wipes some soap from her eyes while I double over laughing. That head of hers! Before I know it, she has already rushed to the sink and happily rubs a whole dollop of soap on my face. I push her back against the refrigerator.

"No one does that to me. So you didn't understand either," I growl. My body is crushing hers. "Yes sir" she laughs. I chuckle and place my hands on the refrigerator next to her. Our lips are very close to each other. Not bad at all. Oh well, I think so.
