Pov Meri

I put the tray of food down on the coffee table. I don't say this often, but this is really fucking awkward...

I plop down on the couch. I just should have thought a little more carefully about where I sat. I plop right between Sage and Axel. Sage grabs the remote.

"What are we watching?" Sage asks.

"Hello: The fall of reach," says Axel.

Me and Sage sigh deeply at exactly the same time. Hello 4: Forward Unto Dawn Sage and I once watched. Great movie btw, but that movie urgh, shitty movie.

"Then not," Axel mutters.

"Incidious," I grin.

I quickly grab the container from Sage's hands and turn on the movie.

Sage cuddles up to me, scared. I put my arm around her and she presses her head into my shirt.

"Dude she's my girlfriend. Find your own!" Axel shouts and bumps my shoulder.

"Axel we do that often," says Sage in surprise.

Oh well, she shouldn't have said that.

"What!" Axel exclaims in surprise.

Well...

Now I can't hear the movie anymore.

Axel grabs my arm and drags me into the hallway. He slams the door behind us.

"She's my fucking girlfriend, you idiot," he hisses.

"And my best friend," I say back dryly.

His fist lands hard against my face. Oh that hurt. I run my hand over my cheek once. I feel some blood coming from my nose. Now he went too far. I grab him by the shoulders and throw him backwards.

"Guys!" I hear Sage shout.

Axel crawls back up and quickly stands. The door flies open and Sage stands in the doorway questioningly.

"Meri je blood," she says shocked and rushes towards me.

Hi, good for you Axel, she cares more about me.

"What did you do?" she asks in surprise.

"Nothing," Axel says quickly.

"Sage, he's cheating," I say.

I'd rather have Sage remain my girlfriend than Axel.

"He's lying Sage. He says it purely because he can't get a girlfriend himself," says Axel and rushes to Sage.

He wraps his arms around her from behind and rests his head on her shoulder.

"I love you Sage," he whispers in her ear and presses a kiss to her cheek.

Shit he's playing 'the boyfriend trick'

"Is this true?" Sage asks me and a tear rolls down her cheek.

"Sage I'm not lying!" I shout in surprise.

How can she believe that loser above me? Plus, he really sucks at acting.

"He denies it," Axel whispers again.

Another tear rolls down her cheek. She wriggles free from Axel's grasp and runs out of the house.

"Thanks dude," Axel grins at me and runs after her.

"Sage hold on!" Axel shouts.

I angrily slam the door behind them. What a damn dirty dirty potatoy loser!

I hit the wall hard!

"Damn it!" I shout loudly and storm upstairs. I slam my room door shut. I turn on the lamp and knock on my closet door again. Just a little too hard. There is a hole in the closet door.

I look at my hand the blood is all over it. I shake my hand back and forth a bit. I walk to my bathroom and hold my hand under the tap. I take off my shirt and put on my gray sweatpants. I walk back into my room. My gaze falls on my window. The lamp comes on in Sage's room. Axel and Sage walk in kissing. Urgh.

I quickly close the curtains and plop down on the bed. I grab my phone. I have a message from a girl at our school. I often get messages from girls, but since I cheated on Sage I never really responded to them anymore. I open the conversation.

Hey Meri

If Sage wants to play it that way, I can play it that way too.

Heyy babe

I respond back. I throw my phone down on the bed and put my hands behind my head and close my eyes for a few seconds.

My ringtone startles me. It's the sound of a beer bottle being opened. Great ringtone.

I pick up my phone and open the chat again.

What are you doing? She responds.

Waiting for you xx

I just need this. Please don't judge right away.

Awh shall I come over?

She says. Uhm slut. Exactly what I need...

Yes, see you soon babe

I answer and throw my phone away again.

I stare at the ceiling grinning. If they really want to play it that way. Then I'm in... the game is on and I never lose.
