Pov Sage

"And then he grabbed a bunch of sweets and asked if I could accept his apology," I say, smiling.

"I really don't get it," Arya sighs

I look at her questioningly.

"I really don't understand. I really don't understand you two. Why don't you have anything yet?" she asks in surprise.

I look at the ground.

Do I like Meri?

"Come on Sage, don't deny that you like him. It's written on your forehead," she says, a little tiredly.

"Is it that obvious?" I ask softly, but really extremely softly.

Arya tightens her lips a bit and nods at me.

"Just a moment," she says, pointing her finger in the air for me to keep quiet.

She walks to the back of the store.

"Aah!" she shouts very happily.

She does some kind of strange happy dance.

Then she comes walking back to me. To have her most happy energy under control again.

"Of course you should only do something with Meri if you want it," she says very seriously again.

I nod cautiously at her. God I don't even understand myself anymore. I don't even know if I like Meri. We've kissed a few times now. Only I really don't want to ruin our friendship. We've been best friends for so long. Instantly everything is ruined. I really don't want that. That's a really bad nightmare of mine.

And by the way. Meri doesn't feel anything for me as just his best friend. We've been friends for so long. That won't just change, right?

"Sage? Earth to Sage!" Arya shouts, clapping her hands and waving in front of my face.

"Hmm," I mumble.

"You are really madly in love with that boy Sage," Arya says to me.

I sigh deeply and walk out of the store. I sit on a bench outside. I run my hands through my hair a few times. I really don't know what to do anymore.

"Sage?" I hear Arya ask softly.

She sits next to me and puts her arms around me.

"I can help you. Meri and you were made for each other. We'll think of something," she tries to reassure me a bit.

I take a very deep breath.

"How?" I ask.

"We'll come up with something special. Something even he can't compete with. Come on Sage you have to give it a chance," Arya whines.

"Okay then," I mumble.

"Yeey!" Arya shouts happily.

She jumps up and does a happy dance.

Even if Meri says yes, I hope it won't end like the last time we had something...

Here we go. The surprise for Meri is about to begin. Arya gives me one more thumbs up before she gets in her car and drives home. I'm about to meet at Meri's house. Not yet, because he wasn't home yet.

I look outside through the window of my room. I see Meri's red car pulling into the driveway.

I take a deep breath and swallow my nerves. Yes, I am very nervous. Hopefully everything goes just fine. My plan doesn't amount to much. Actually, my plan is just to watch a movie with him and let him know that I like him through hints.

I look outside again. Meri is just getting out of his car. He looks up and sees me. He smiles at me and waves. And I smile back and wave unconsciously, I feel my cheeks getting a little hotter.

Meri points to his house. I nod and climb into the tree through my window. Meri also walks in. I climb through the tree to Meri's window. Just as I reach his window, which is still closed, he is in his room to open the window for me.

I climb in through his window.

"Heyy," he smiles at me and flops down on the bed.

He takes off his shirt and his pants as well.

I swallow once. He puts on his gray sweatpants. He pats down on the bed next to him.

I crawl next to him, but don't lie down like normal. He looks at me strangely and sits next to me. He puts his arm around my shoulders and pulls me towards him. He grabs the remote with his other hand and turns on Netflix.

"What do you want to see?" Meri asks.

"The Flash!" I suddenly shout enthusiastically again.

Meri chuckles and turns it on.

After a good 45 minutes the episode is over. I haven't really given him any hints yet. I've discovered that I'm not very good at it. It could also be because I'm lying here in Meri's arms, but yes, it may just be me.

"Do you want to watch another episode or not?" Meri asks me.

I shake my head. Actually, not really.

Meri nods and turns it off.

We both look at each other. Oh well, I'll just tell him. What have I got to lose? Shit, actually my entire friendship with Meri is now at stake...

"I have something to tell you," we both say at the same time.

What does he want to tell me then?

"You tell me first," we say at the same time again.

Telepathy right here.

"Tell me," I say.

"Alright then," Meri chuckles with a smile on his face from here to Tokyo.

"Sage, I have a girlfriend," he says.

And that my dear people, that is the moment my heart broke into a million pieces.
