Staring at my reflection while the sun shine in through the window from behind me, I couldn't help but notice how tired I looked with the illumination highlighting my facial features. It was hard seeing my face so sucked in. Pulling my locs up into a ponytail, I sighed resting my hands on the top on my vanity.

"I have to hurry up." I mumbled to myself. It was my first night at work and the last thing I wanted to do was be late, even if it was only a small security job. Grabbing my car keys off my dresser I hurriedly made my way out of my small apartment to my car. Sitting in the drivers seat while sticking my keys into the ignition my car jumped on going into its nice smooth gears. She purred beautifully and it made me smile every time, the hours I put in for the 2024 almost took my ass out the game for real.

Working at the hospital was a different story every single day, however I have a new job now at a new location, so I've never done security here before. It was some private company but they were located in a "bad" part of the neighborhood. I don't know what my company thinks I can do compared to an actual man but you know what it pays 5 more dollars extra so I don't mind if I do. Plus who cares about where the job was located ? I just want the money.

Typing the address into the gps the time came up as only a five minute drive from my apartment.

"The fuck?" My face pulled together as I Checked the street name again. Im not from New york but Ive lived here a pretty good while and Ive never seen this street before. Pulling out of my parking spot I zoomed out of my apartment complex turning right down the street. With the lights it took it just under four minutes to get to where I needed to be and boy when I tell you it was as ratchet as they made it seem.

Instantly the people hanging on the block caught my eyes, it was niggas hanging out in front of the hair store of all places then across the street was a gated playground with a buncha kids just running everywhere. While I was parking my car just in front of the address spot a group of females started crossing the street just as I was swerving in right behind me. Beeping my horn I stuck my head out the window ready to curse them out but my words got caught in my throat.

"You need to watch where the fuck you going." The girl I couldn't take my eyes off of rolled her eyes at me finishing her way across the street. Sitting back in my seat Just watching her walk, I noticed her and her friends continued into the park calling out to some kids.

"Come get yall snacks!" She yelled while two little girls ran up to her. She was bad though fuck the kids. Im talking perfect coka-cola bottle shape standing at, at least five feet. She was on the darker skin complexion making the sun just glow off of her. She was literally shining.

"Why the fuck her manly looking ass still looking over here?" One of the friends spoke up loud enough to snap me out my trance. I couldn't help it though I just felt like she was hypnotizing me.

Catching my eyes for just a second it looked like Baby girl was about to respond in a nasty way, then she just shrugged looking away from me. "Maybe She ain't never seen a bitch look this good before I Don't know."

Smirking inwardly at her little comment I finally decided to get out of my car. It looked like the Hair store was the address, but if that was the case why the hell would they say its an private business?

Walking pass all the niggas outside, I walked in looking for the manager. Immediately to the left of me behind the counter top an elder woman noticed my company logo and called to what I assumed is her husband.

"Come now, Security is here." She spoke into an walkie talkie putting it down below the counter. "One moment." She smiled widely at me almost creeping me out.

"Hello ! Hello My friend!" An elder man raced from the back of the hair store waving his arm to me.

"Hello, How are you, Im Tahj with -."

"Yes! Yes ! I know exactly who you are Tahj! Im so happy to have you working with us! Now just come with me to the back so I can explain what You'll be doing." He grabbed my arm tugging me along with him as he was talking.

"Oh-ok." My feet struggled to keep up as he pulled me to a dusty dark looking area.

"Now I know your company hasn't told you much of what we will be doing!" The older chinese man spoke as we walked further to the back. "And I like to make sure people understand what they are getting into when they come and work for my business." He stopped right in front of a wall which was filled with various craft items, some books here and there. "Now I want you to know what happens here stays here so if you decide not to accept my offer, and I hear you speaking on the streets you will be delt with."

"Whoa hold up-." I went to cut the old man off but he had already opened the door to what looked like one of the biggest drug warehouses I had ever seen. "-What the fuck." I finished my sentence watching all the naked woman bagging a ass load of different drugs.

"This is what you're protecting when you stand outside those doors. Now the group of gangsters that stands out there also work with me, they know there roles already you understand?"

Nodding my head in a yes manner, the old man stood up straight and looked me in the eyes. "Im happy you are on board, just stand in the front and if anything suspicious goes down you'll know what to do. We close at 9."

Giving him a firm nod I couldn't help but wonder if an extra 5$ was really worth protecting a Chinese Drug lord.
