"So the guy just shot Chris in his sleep?" Josh asked Ricky as they were moving all of Chris's belongings out of the house since the house was to be sold. "Yeah, at least that's what the police told me." Ricky replied, he could feel the tears fill up in his eyes, some rolling down his cheeks. Chris had been his best friend, he felt almost as if Chris was his brother, it didn't seem real to him that he was gone. "Hey man don't cry." Josh said patting his back.
Ricky was the one who had found Chris's body.
Flashback, Ricky's POV
I unlocked Chris's door and walked in, as I did most mornings. "Chris! I brought coffee!" I yelled up the stairs. 'Ugh he's probably still sleeping, I swear he sleeps til noon the days I don't come over and wake him up' I thought to myself. I sighed as I walked up the marble staircase, to Chris's room. The door was slightly ajar, 'hmm maybe his dog wanted in.' I thought to himself. Chris normally sleeps with the door shut tight. He pushed the door the rest of the way open, the sight horrified me, Chris laying there, lifeless and bloody. "No, no, no!" I cried running over to Chris's phone that was on the nightstand and dialed! '911'. "Operator what's your emergency? Um, my friend is dead in his house." I cried into the phone. "We'll send the police over right away, stay calm sir." The operator said, and i hung up and dropped to my knees and cried. 'You'll be fine Ricky' he heard a voice that sounded like Chris whisper in his ear, but when he turned around no one was there. In my current state of mind I brushed it off, as if it were normal.
Soon the police arrived after examining and asking questions, took Chris's body to the morgue to be examined.
"Richard Olsen, your friend Chris Cerulli was shot multiple times in the stomach and was then smothered the rest of the way to his death." The detective told me through the phone. "Oh god." Was all I could say. "We also found his dog in his backyard, we have her at the station if you would like to retrieve her." He told me. I'm not a dog person but, it'll remind me of Chris. "I'll be right over." I said and then left to get the Chris's beloved dog, Jax.
     Chris's POV
"You don't understand Balz! Chris was the only family I had left! He was my brother!" Ricky shouted and tears streamed down his face. "Ricky." I said, attempting to make myself visible. "Chris!?" Ricky said looking at me, well I think. "Yes, and you will be fine." I said, and suddenly began to fade.
