3- Confronting him

The ninja managed to find Skales, just in front of the door of the tomb where the Serpentine were trapped. After a tense reunion and the mention of a supposedly curse, the Serpentine general allowed the group to enter to know about that legend.

-After a rather humbling scrap with those indestructible stone warriors, we've made amends with our warring past... -Skales says, -and found ways to help better ourselves.

While they followed Skales, the ninja noticed some snakes talking about manners near them.

-So, you got a few snakes to go straight -Kai starts, -Doesn't mean there's not one bad apple... Fangpyre have white scales, don't they?

-A few... Is this about the missing hard drive? -Skales asks.

-This is about the Overlord -Nya says.

-Ah, the Overlord! Glad we weren't around for that mess... No, we have no desire to meddle in the affairs above -Skales' family approaches him, -As you can see, we stick to our own... We only want what's best for the next generation -he ends, putting a hand over one of his son's shoulders, Skales Jr.

After that, he moves away from them and guides the ninja to sit around a small campfire.

-Have a seat -Skales says, -You could learn a thing or two about your beloved Golden Master.

Kai, Zane, Nya and Pixal take a seat where they were indicated to. Nya, that was sitting next to Kai, speaks to him:

-How do you think Cole is doing? -she asks in a whisper.

-I don't know, but I hope everything is going well... -Kai answers in the same way.

Nya sighs heavily and Kai rubs her back.

-I know you're worried about Jay, but we'll get him back... Let Cole worry about it, we need to address this too -Kai says and Nya nods.

Right after that, the ex-general of the Venomari tribe, Acidicus, approached them, carrying a green staff.

-Hello, hatchlings... -Acidicus hisses, and the group turns around to him, -and camouflaged land dwellers... Do you seek to learn about the curse of the Golden Master?

The group nod in silence.

Acidicus approaches the campfire, -Then everyone come closer...

"When the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago, deep in the ground, he created the Serpentine. Since the first dawn our elders knew of the Curse of the Golden Master: when he who had the powers equal to the First Spinjitzu Master would rise and usher in the last of the setting suns. With no equal adversary his power will go unmatched. His destructive rule will change the face of the world, and he will not stop until every man, woman and Serpentine are enslaved under his control."

-Is he referring to Lloyd? -Zane asks, and Kai just shrugs.

Then, Acidicus continues telling the prophecy.

"The Serpentine tried to warn the land dwellers, but they wouldn't listen, they thought we were the enemy, though we were only trying to prevent the prophecy of the Golden Master's terrible reign. After the Great Devourer failed to scare the unbelievers below ground, it is we who retreated beneath the soil, promising never to return. Even now, that the end is inevitable."

After the story was finished, the group exchanged glances, without knowing what to say.

Zane looked at Acidicus, -Thank you for telling us this -he says.

-I assume you'll want a moment to talk to each other -Skales says and approaches Acidicus, -we will leave you to it, so you can talk in peace.

Both snakes move away from them to leave them alone.
