Chapter 10 - Teamwork

Lynette POV

"And step, one two three."

I thrusted my blade into the straw-stuffed dummies, aiming to slice their bodies cleanly in half. My techniques were newly developed, but soon they were going to be perfected. 

"I should get to the Fountain of Lucine by now, Lyney will probably worry if I arrive too late."

Suddenly, I heard a shuffle from behind me, "Lyney? Freminet?" I swiftly looked behind, but no one was there. Who's lurking around here I wonder?

Before I had a second thought, a large but blunt claymore struck my head. What the?! I tried to regain my footing, but the stranger anticipated my moves and knocked me down. Before I could react, chains wrapped around me, and a cloth was held strongly towards my face. Mmph, Chloroform?! My mind was becoming drowsy, and I could barely open my eyes anymore. The last thing I saw was a man smiling back at me, with a delusion strapped to his torso.

Lumine POV

"I'm telling you! Chicken-Mushroom Skewer is a must for dinner tonight."

"But what about Zhongyuan Chop Suey? It's piping hot, and the meat is quite good!"

"Bleh, are you kidding?! Thinking about that dish makes Paimon feel queasy... Don't you know it's made out of animal organs and other suspicious ingredients? And that lady always shouting about her Chop Suey and my brain spin!"

"Alright alright... We'll get Chicken-Mushroom Skewers tonight, but are you sure it's enough to fill up your stomach?"

"Hmph! Who said we were only going to order Chicken-Mushroom Skewers? You know that won't be enough for me!"

I opened up my wallet, and only a few thousand Mora were left inside. I knew I shouldn't have purchased that Holy Water.

"Well Paimon, looks like we'll be living off Mona's lifestyle and have a Satisfying Salad tonight..."

Just as I swung my head in the direction of Paimon, I saw a glimpse of a certain fiery lawyer heading towards me. 

"Traveler! Paimon! You won't believe what I found out about the missing vision users! Oops! Heheh I should probably be a bit more quiet. Anyways, lets head inside a secluded building nearby, this information is confidential after all."

Before I had time to process what Yanfei said to me, she dragged both me and Paimon into a building before we could resist. The atmosphere was damp, the lights were dim and no people were in sight. What happened to this place?

"Paimon wants an explanation! What's the truth about these missing vision users?"

"Right, I should explain now. These kidnapped vision users were highly suspected to be taken from a powerful organisation, in which many of the members are able to use delusions. It has been confirmed 2 vision users were killed, however their visions were not found on their bodies. It turns out this organisation are gathering up a supply of Masterless Visions to sell to the black market. Why would they be doing this? Mora of course, however there could be something else that I'm missing..."

I was stunned, innocent vision users are being killed just so these people can stuff their greedy pockets with Mora? But then it hit me. These suspected criminals used delusions to as a means of catching them... Isn't that something the Fatui uses as well?

"Yanfei, does this organisation have ties to the Fatui?"

"Well, the files I received stated that there are apparently no ties to the Fatui, which I find unbelievable. How else would they be sourcing the delusions?"
