We had made our way out of Garrus's shop and began exploring the rest of Alessa. Most people didn't pay much attention to the little Black Cat girl and her giant sword. It was fortunate for us since I didn't want Fran gathering too much attention in such little time. It didn't seem like I was gathering much attention either walking around with her.

"Master? Where are we going?"

"Exploring."

"Exploring what?"

"The city."

If I ever went back to Tempest, this city could honestly provide me with some great inspiration on what I should make next. Although much of what I saw in the city already existed in ours. The most that I saw that was significantly different was the amount of fortifications around. I was never one for fortifying our city too heavily, after all I wanted it to be free and open. The biggest problem really only happened when humans tried to invade us before but I dealt with their army rather easily. Just one view of Gluttony and beating that guy named Razen was enough to scare them away.

There was the case of Hinata... but thankfully the kids mediated between us during that situation. If it wasn't for them, there's a chance I'd be nothing more than goop on the side of the plains.

There were a few shops that caught our interest on the way through. One of which was...

"A clothing shop?"

"Nn? I already have armor."

"No, no, you need proper clothes, you know."

"Do I have to?"

"Fran... tell me again why you don't need clothing."

"U-um..."

"I'm waiting."

"O-ok..."

Thankfully a disappointed voice was enough to change her choice.

We walked into the store together.

"Hello! Welcome to mah humble shop! Hm...?"

She seemed to be eyeing up our clothing.

"Are one of ya's an adventurer?"

She noticed?

"Yeah, Fran is... why?"

"That explains the absolutely awful outfit she is wearing! Although that thing is made of some fine pelts, it absolutely has no style towards it. Whoever the maker of that outfit only has their eyes on practicality rather than style."

I feel like Kaijin would be sneezing at any moment.

"Right..."

"My apologies but I just felt like it had to be said."

"No, it's ok. Besides, it would definitely be right to have an outfit that isn't for battle."

"But Master-"

[Fran. Even though I gave it to you, it has no style towards it. I can't imagine you going to a meeting with some hot shots and all you're wearing is your battle uniform. Besides... none of my clothing really fits that tail of yours.]

(...)

I used a bit of Telepathy to tell her this. As much as Fran enjoys the outfit, it wasn't fit to be worn casually since this was the only thing she was really wearing at the time. I had my own outfits but I wasn't going to cut a hole into each one of them just for her. If we could buy what we needed, we should buy it. After all, what I have wouldn't be able to last me forever. Even if I put on my most embarrassing outfits...
