"sorry about the uh... mess." Harry says as he rocks forwards and backwards on his heels. his hands in his pockets.

"you kidding me? this is more like it. Muggles are rather clean aren't they?" Tonks replies. we were all standing in Harry's bedroom. he needed to pack for the trip.

i stood leaning against the doorway just staring into space. i didn't want to go with, i couldn't. i was a ticking time bomb waiting to be set off by the littlest thing that reminded me of my brother. i couldn't live with other people right now.

something blocked off my gaze and my eyes trail up to meet Harry standing right in front of me. he looked at me with a comforting expression and soft eyes.

"it's gonna fine." he whispers and takes both my hands in his. i could feel his breath on my face.

i was evidently very unsure. i sigh and whisper back, "Harry. you don't understand. i'm still a wreck. i'm in no shape to live with other people for who knows how long?"

he looks at me for a little longer before i'm brought in for a warm hug. his arms wrapped tightly around my neck. he swayed us slightly and i found myself holding back tears again. this really solidified my belief that i'm a wreck. i was.

"are you two gonna help or jus-" Tonks says and her voice fades towards the end of her sentence, just as she noticed what the two of us were doing. Harry and i had completely forgotten that she was in the room. he broke off the hug quickly and cleared his throat. he looked around awkwardly and put his hands in his pockets. i also averted my gaze awkwardly, but to blink back my tears.

Tonks tightened her lips uncomfortably and started fidgeting with her wand.

"um... i'll take care of it." she said and cast a spell that threw everything of Harry's in his suitcase, including his Hogwarts things that had been locked in a chest at the end of his bed.

"ah well. mum always did it neater than me... let's head back down then!" she added as she buckled the suitcase shut. Harry walked over and picked it up, Tonks carried Hedwig's cage, and the three of us headed downstairs with Harry leading.

Tonks nudged my shoulder and raised her eyebrows teasingly as she indicated to Harry.

i give her a weak smile and shrug in response. she winks and whispers, "you'll tell me later."

i stop dead in my tracks. those were the last words Cedric had ever said to me.

fuck, i'm doing it again.

i swallow hard and say quickly, "i'll be back in a sec." i run back up the stairs and straight into the bathroom just as the tears started making their way down my face.

i heard Tonks say on the other side of the door to Harry, "was it something i said?"

before i knew it i was full on crying. i lean my arms on the basin and look at myself in the mirror. my cheeks wet and my eyes red. pathetic, y/n. really.

but the tears didn't stop. i probably spent a full 5 minutes trying to, and eventually got a hold of myself. i wanted to go home. where i could cry all i wanted to and lay until i forgot my own name.

i make sure i look somewhat presentable before i step out. at the head of the stairs i hear Mad-Eye say, "your little girlfriend is holding us up, Potter."

"she's not my-" Harry stops talking as i descend the staircase, keeping my head down. the lock on the door to the storage room under the staircase had been broken. i see Harry retrieving his broomstick, then notice that everyone was holding a broomstick.
