On a country road, Klaus sits on the hood of his SUV along with Akane by his side, holding his swaddled daughter, as he waits for the person who is taking in the baby for them.

When Akane came to know about the plan, of declaring the baby Mikaelson 'dead', she volunteered to help them as she is the one, who can help keep the baby safe, from the witches of New Orleans and the wolves. Klaus was never the one to trust someone blindly, but the moment this girl saved his daughter's life, Klaus trusted her.

While sitting in silence and admiring his daughter, he asked the question that was on his mind for a some time.

"What kind of a witch are you?"

"I was thinking when you would ask that..." she said with a smirk, "I am a different kind of a witch, a hybrid of sort"

"A hybrid ?" Klaus looks away from his daughter towards her

"I am a what they call in blood siphoner, a person who can manipulate blood, and a witch who can't create their magic but can only take it from other supernatural beings and magical artifacts." says with a sigh

"Interesting, in my thousands years of existence; I have never come across anyone like you."

"I will take that as a compliment." she says with a small smile

A few moments later, a car pulls up to Klaus, and Rebekah gets out. She sees her brother , with an unknown girl and her newborn niece, she smiles at Klaus. Klaus smiles back before greeting her.

"Hello Sister"

Rebekah gently touches the baby, and stares at her in wonder.

"Oh, she looks like her mother." She smiles, "Maybe there is a God after all."

Klaus laughs at Rebekah's comment and says, "Well, she has a hint of the devil in her eyes. That's all me."

"And who is she?" asks Rebekah while observing the girl with red and black hair.

"She is Akane, she is Marcel's niece, she will keep the baby safe along with you and cast a cloaking spell." explains Klaus

"I have heard of you" says Rebekah with a smile, "It is nice to put a face on the name, I have heard so much about."

"Likewise, Rebekah"

"No one can ever find her" states Klaus to both of them

"I will make sure of it" says Akane

"I know what to do, Nik." They look at the baby, "Perhaps we'll get a white fence. I think that would be lovely."

Klaus holds up the baby to get a last look at her before she leaves with Rebekah, and lowers his voice to a whisper as he says goodbye to his daughter.

"This city would have seen you dead. But, I will have it your home. And every soul who wishes you harm will be struck down, just as sure as my blood runs in your veins." Rebekah looks horrified at the revelation, but Klaus just looks devastated. "You will return to me."

Klaus kisses his daughter on the forehead and the cheek before handing her to his sister. Then, he gives Rebekah and the baby the tiny wooden knight that he carved for Rebekah a 1,000 years ago, which causes Rebekah to grab his hand and start to cry. Akane wipes the tears that had escaped her eyes quickly.

"In spite of our differences, Rebekah, there is no one I would trust more with my daughter's life." Klaus hugs Rebekah and kisses her on the cheek.

"Be happy, sister." Rebekah

"She will be happy, Nik. I promise." They smile at each other, "What's her name?" she asks

Klaus pauses for a moment and says, "Hope. Her name is Hope."

Klaus starts to cry. Rebekah leaves to put the baby in her car, as Klaus watches.

Akane hugs Klaus and says, "I will keep her safe, I can promise you that."

Klaus hugs her back, he needed that comfort and reassurance. He just silently nodded at the girls words, his tears staining her black top.

Klaus lets her go first, and Akane smiles at him and climbs into the car, by Rebekah's side and they drive off.
