The moon was ful as Cyno crawled into an abandoned cave. His wound wasn't too deep but he could feel his strength leaving him. The mission took far too long. It seemed as if the men he pursued knew exactly when to move to escape his grasp. But in the end justice had been served. He punished them as he had punished many before. He wanted to return home.
"Nari " he whispered. He will get yelled at. He smiled. Tighnari always yelled at him when he returned wounded. His Nari, his heart and soul. He must return home.

1 month earlier

"You're leaving again..." Tighnari's voice was barely a whisper. Cyno squeezed him tighter. He wished they could stay like this, wrapped in eachother's arms in their cozy bed. He kissed his lover's forehead, wishing it could calm his nerves. His work had been so hectic lately and Tighnari could see it in his behaviour.
"Can't you stay for one more day? If I didn't know any better I would think you're just using me for..."
Before Tighnari could finish his sentence he was shushed by a gentle kiss.
" I would never use you like that my love, my soul, my dear Nari," Cyno answered in a serious tone. Tighnari's cheeks turned red as he looked away, smiling:"Geez I was just teasing you. You don't have to be so serious."
Cyno nuzzled into his neck, tickling him with little kisses.
Tighnari laughed as he turned back to him, giving him another gentle kiss. After they broke apart he asked him if he would at least stay for breakfast. Cyno could never say no to those green eyes. He nodded, earning another smile from Tighnari.
The sun was slowly rising when Tighnari and Cyno finally got out of bed. Before he vanished into the bathroom, the forest ranger gave Cyno a quick peck on the cheek. Cyno stared at the closed door, regretting starting the day. But duty calls and he couldn't ignore it. He put on his clothes and walked to the kitchen to make some coffee. He was surprised to see Collei sitting at the table, reading a book Tighnari gave her a couple weeks prior.
"Good morning Collei. Enjoying the book?" he inquired. She made a face indicating suffering which made him chuckle.
"That bad ha?" he laughed as he began to make coffee. Collei began to explain her troubles with the book while he took out some food for breakfast. He listened and smiled at how domestic it all felt. He felt at home. Tighnari emerged from the bedroom, groomed and clothed, smiling when he smelt coffee. Cyno gave him a mug and a kiss on the cheek, making Collei look away.
Tighnari blushed but still let Cyno hug him from behind. Everything was perfect. Cyno didn't want to let go.

It was getting colder. He knew he was safe in the cave. As Cyno tried not to fall asleep, blood kept gushing out of the wound. He is going to have to close. He closed his eyes and thought about his partner. What he taught him. The entity in him was howling. He won't die. He refuses to. Death will not claim him today. He took the bandages from his bag and began to tend to his wound. Tighnari is going to kill him when he sees him, he chuckled at himself. He heard scorpions roaming around the entrance of the cave. Not now... He grabbed his spear and got ready to fight. But the scorpions never came. As if something else scared them off. He pulled himself ols close to the wall, hiding in the shadows. He could see a silhouette of a man. Eremite, tall, strong. Dangerous. He needs to survive, he has to return home. Whatever the cost.
