Chapter 5: Infirmary

Eren took his seat next to Annie and tried his best to keep his eyes on Ms.Zoe. He had been writing down notes and concentrating on lesson, surprisingly. Soon the students were all told to begin working on the current assignment, dissection. Eren looked at the dead animal in front of him and he cringed, "Gross." he said under his breath. Annie looked over at him and sighed, "Let's just get this thing over with quickly ok." Annie said as she began cutting the animal open. Eren cringed once more but began working, praying that he won't throw up and make Annie feel disgusted with him. Thankfully Eren was able to manage not throwing up during the dissection but something more embarrassing happened.....he passed out right in the middle of it. Other students ran over to where Eren had fallen and noticed that while passed out Eren still held his disgusted expression. "We should get him to the nurse." "We should get Ms.Zoe here first." "She's coming already." "Wait maybe I can help." "No you can't!" the students gathered around the passed out Eren said as Ms.Zoe made her way over to Eren she surprisingly found Annie still working. As Ms.Zoe checked on Eren to make sure he was ok she looked at Annie, "Why are you still working aren't you alarmed?" Ms.Zoe asked Annie, "No, I believe that my grades and my future are more important than that idiot." Annie said Ms.Zoe looked at Annie with a look of concern, "Well grades are good and all but I think we should all put the well-being of each-other first." Ms.Zoe said, Annie looked at Ms.Zoe once more, "Well, it just seems that I have different priorities." Annie said as she continued working. Ms.Zoe sighed, "Alright Alright, but can you at least help with this situation." Ms.Zoe said as she pointed at Eren. Annie stopped working and sighed, "Alright, what do you want me to do." Annie said with an annoyed tone.  "I just need you to take Mr.Yeager here to the infirmary." Ms.Zoe said as she motioned for everyone to back up and give Eren space. Annie rolled her eyes and picked Eren up and slung him over her shoulder and began to leave the room. As Annie left she heard a few wows and "What strength." 'typical idiots.' she thought to herself as she left the biology lab and headed towards the infirmary, with a passed out Eren slung over her shoulder. She soon made it to the infirmary and set him on the bed, she was about to leave until she heard someone call her name. She turned to Eren who was still passed out but he was talking in his sleep. "Annie...." he whispered which caused Annie to blush slightly, she then tried to walk out of the infirmary once more but was stopped again. "Annie...please.....stay with....me..." Eren said, Annie turned to find a barely awake Eren, his eyes only slightly open. Annie tried to hide her blush by giving Eren a scowl, "why should I?" she asked. "I just...don't want to be alone..." Eren said quietly.  Annie tried hiding her blush once more and tried exiting the room but was stopped yet again, but not by words but by the bed?? She heard the bed creaking and found the weak and barely awake Eren getting up and trying to walk to her, "Eren what are you doing, lay back down." Annie ordered. Eren shook his head and walked closer to her. "Eren...." Annie said in a menacing tone. Eren shook his head and walked closer. Soon he was face to face with her, "I won't lay back down, unless you stay by my side." Eren said with a serious tone. Annie looked at Eren dead in the eyes and blushed, she hadn't seen Eren this close to her, she hadn't noticed how nice his eyes looked, how nice his hair looked.....wait what was she thinking! "O-ok..." Annie said still looking at Eren whose expression softened and he began to smile. He then walked back to his bed but without Annie even noticing, his hand was intertwined with hers. 'W-why is he holding my hand, why am I staying here with him, Not too long ago I was standing in the middle of a classroom telling everyone how little I cared for him.....why am I doing this?' Annie thought as Eren sat on the bed and let go of her hand and Annie took a seat beside the bed on one of the nearby chairs. It was dead silent for a long while until Eren broke the silence, "Thank you, for staying here with me." Eren said as he glanced over at Annie. Annie looked at him and stared, for some reason she felt her heart beat increasing, she felt heat all over her body, why was this happening to her, why is it all of a sudden she feels nervous around him. Why is she happy to be here with him...
