A Rude Awakening

Avery POV

' I'm screaming for help but no one hears. These faceless monsters all around me laughing punching and screaming at me. "Take it like the whore you are!" One of the taller men scream while holding my hands down. I continue screaming hoping someone anyone will hear but to no avail.   I feel one of the men pulling my arse near them and i start to thrash. That is when the larger one smacks me yet again. "There is no one here to save you Avery not even your precious Connor." The man nears my face and all I see are piercing red eyes.' "Avery!... Avery!.... GET UP PLEASE, IT'S ALL A DREAM JUST WAKE UP!"

I jump awake screaming and looking around panicked and confused. 'Where am I this isn't my room?' My vision is blurry as well and when I take a look to my right and see some large blur I jump to my feet and run. Although I didn't get very far before large arms engulfed me. "AHHHG LET GO!!" I scream as I start to thrash about. "Shhh Avery its me Connor there is nothing to be afraid of." After hearing his voice I calm down and start to regain my breath.

"What happened where am I?" I ask as i turn to face Connor yet everything goes black. " You're at my family house...uh Avery you okay you look lost?" I try looking at him then begin reaching for him as I do he grabs my hand and holds it close. "Avery.... hey whats wrong." As soon as he asks for a second time I began crying 'I-I'm blind how no this can't happen..' "Avery..." He calls my name once more and I finally i speak yet my voice comes out hoarsely.

"C-Connor I think I may be... blind." I say and cast my head downwards towards the floor in despair. I can hear his breath hitch then myself being picked up and set down on a bed. "I'll  be back please don't move from right here okay?" I nod and he kisses my forehead. I hear his steps retreat and doors open and close. 'Wait did he just kiss my head?' I move my hand to touch where he kissed and I feel my cheeks heat up at the thought.

The sudden sound of doors being opened frightened me and I scooted back into the bed. "Here he is elder he says he can't see and I can't seem to find out why." That's Connors voice I'd recognize it anywhere. "Oh my .. let me have a look at him." This voice is new much frailer and older than Connors. Cold and small hands touch my face and I jump back. "W-Wait who are you?" I frantically spit out my words before she can reach for me again. "Oh sweetie I promise I wont hurt you I would just like to check yours eyes, for damage." I nod slowly and feel her hands on my face yet again.

She begins moving my head from left to right poking here and there. When she reaches my necks she does the same. "Open you eyes please." I do as she says and I feel her hands around them slowly caressing each crease. "Close them please this might hurt." As soon as she says that I'm reaching for Connor who immediately grips my hand with his larger ones. "It's okay I'm right here I wont leave you.....ever." I couldn't catch what he said at the end until I felt a slight pinch on my neck and eyes and the older women chant "Mundatis tenebras, qui nos perveniant sanavit." (Latin for "Clean the darkness,which we become healed.")

"Okay child now slowly open your eyes." As I did what she said my vision slowly became clear and a elderly woman with greying hair and violet eyes sat in front of me. "Oh my wow...thank you so much." I hugged her without think which made her gasp but she returned the hug smiling. "It was nothing now get rest child I'll be by to check on you." I nodded happily looking around taking everything in, including Connor who looked frazzled and tired. We made eye contact and he gave me a heartwarming smile which I returned. 

"So what happened? Why am I in some hospital room?" I curiously ask Connor who expression seems to turn dark. "Your good for nothing father was letting his friends....they DAMMIT!" I jumped when Connor slammed his hand against the wall causing it to crack on spot. I look at him shaken up and carefully grab his hand, when I do he looks into my eyes, yet his seem darker. His features soon soften and he smiles at me.

After he's calmed down I try remembering what he said 'my father, his friends, does he mean Viktor?.... wait...no.' When I remember everything that has happened I start to sob. As I'm sobbing Connor moves up to me pulling me close to his side. I gladly welcome his comfort and pull him closer letting everything out. " Shh... It's alright your safe now no one can ever hurt you. I wont let that happen I'll always protect you." Connor begins rubbing my back while he says calming words over and over.

Soon after I calm down I look into Connors eyes and all I can see it....love? "Why did you come back to my house?" When I ask that question his eyes harden and he looks away. "Lets just say I could feel something was up and the atmosphere around your house was dark." His response has me looking at him quizzically, why is he not telling the truth. I know he's hiding something from me but what.  " Why are you not telling me the truth you can trust me I promise." I grab his hands and give them a comforting squeeze for him to answer me.

Connors POV

Dammit why did he have to ask something like that. He can't handle me being a werewolf and him being my mate, The Luna of a pack. "Avery.... I will tell you soon you just need to recover first." He gives me a grumpy look but nods in approval. As soon as I think I'm in the clear he asks me "Oh why did you kiss me earlier, you know on my forehead?" Oh crap I look around trying to find the right words. Finally I come up with a good answer. "Well Avery that is as well a part of my big secret that you will soon find out I promise, I'll give you a hint.." I then bark and smile at him. 

He gives me a look like I'm crazy but smiles anyways "Fine as soon as I'm better you have to tell me okay?"I give him a heart warming smile and nod "Okay." He gives me a hug and quite 'thank you.' "Alright well you need your sleep I'll be going." As I was about to get up I see a petrifying look cross Avery's face. "WAIT!... please don't leave will you sleep with me...tonight?" When the words leave his mouth I go to ask why he is scared when he responds "We have our secrets right?" I chuckle and nod but join him in bed. Immediately he scoots up to my side and closes his eyes. Smiling at him I get comfy while pulling him closer while I let sleep take me.

Well hope you liked this chapter some big news for Avery will be up soon. I'm sorry I'm slow on updates It's just hard to keep up with my schedule. BTW if you have any ideas for them trough them my way. Whose the guy from Avery's dream, just wait and see he plays a big role.
