trespasser: a person who goes onto somebody's land without their permission, often holding malicious intent.
...
Even now the nightmare haunted him — the rush of the wind howling in his ears, Vhagar and Caraxes falling below him in explosions of fire and bursts of dragon blood that he rushed to meet, as if an invisible hand of the God was pushing him down from the skies above to meet his end.
The wrenching roars of his dragon, his only companion and dearest friend, made him scream in agony, as his flesh burned and melted and fizzled like oil.
He was the blood of the dragon, so why? Why was he aflame?
Next, he remembered cold unlike any other, his bones felt as if they would break from the water's cuts.
And then darkness. Complete silence.
He lay in his grave, pain pulsing in his limbs and eye aflame like the day he bargained it for the greatest dragon. For power. For recognition.
Now, all he wanted was to stop this agony.
His lungs were full of cold stones and whatever was left of his heart wrenched open, maggots crawling through the flesh and having their fill as he lay for all eternity, not even able to scream in his torment.
And then—
Wood. Lavender. Mint.
The crack of wood in the fireplace.
The softest melody. A warm weight on his hand.
He breathes.
