As Link pulls out onto the road, I tighten my grip around him, and I can feel him give a small laugh from his chest. "You good back there?" He yells through the wind and our helmets.
"Yes!" I try to yell loud enough for him to hear me. I don't know why I was so worried about riding this thing... It's kind of nice. Having the wind blow through my hair, getting to enjoy the fresh air, and... holding on to Link is kind of nice too. He gives me a sort of comfort... that... that I haven't felt in a long time, that I haven't felt... since Mother. Oh great, now I'm crying... but they aren't just tears of sadness... but also joy. Whenever I think about Mother, I tend to get very sentimental... but with Link... all I feel is comfort and warmth.
Link makes a right turn towards Hateno Village. Hateno Village is one of the eight villages here in Hyrule, and it is my personal favorite. When I get older and move out of my Father's house... I would like to live here... but it would be nice to live in a place other than Hyrule. Hyrule is a large island far off the coast of California. I wish to travel to many cities across the world... like New York City, Tokyo, and Paris... especially Paris. Ever since my Mother first talked about her trip to Paris when she was in college... I've longed to go there.
When we reach Hateno Village, Link pulls into a parking spot near a park full of stalls, balloons, and music. He gets off the bike, and helps me off. "What is this?" I ask Link, amazed by what I am seeing and hearing.
"This is Hateno Village's annual Harvest Festival." He says proudly as he stretches his arms out wide, as if to present me with the festival.
"This is wonderful... how did I not know about this?" I say as we start to walk towards the festival, side by side.
"Maybe because you're always busy reading books..." He says with a smile.
"There is nothing wrong with a little light reading." I say defensively.
"You're right there isn't anything wrong with a little light reading... but almost every time I see you, you are reading." I don't respond to him... but my cheeks do start to burn a bright scarlet. "It's one of the reasons why I like you."
"You like me... because I read?" I ask... as my cheeks burn an even brighter shade of scarlet.
"I like how focused you are when you read... I have never seen anyone that focused on reading before." He says looking me straight into the eyes. "I mean last year... you were sitting on a bench in the park..."
"Wait... you were watching me in the park?" I ask with a little laugh.
"Well... yes... but I was with some friends... and you just happened to be there."
"Oh..." I say with a tiny smile. Link then bites his lip trying to suppress his smile... Obviously, I can still tell he's smiling.
"Anyways..." He continues. "You were sitting on the bench just reading, when two of my friends decided to play football... and one of them got hit in the nose, he was bleeding everywhere. You... didn't even notice them... you just kept reading your book... what was it..." He says pondering a moment.
"Little Women." I answer him breathlessly. "I do remember that... I knew they were there... but I just didn't pay any attention to them... I wanted to finish the chapter... Beth was really sick and I wanted to know if she..." I stop myself when I look at Link and he's just smiling at me. "What?"
"Nothing..." He says with a little laugh. He then turns forward and walks towards a stall.
"What!" I say lightly hitting his arm.
