After an uneventful and tiring day, I needed to get home. I wish my school had actual drama, but alas all I can do is bitch about people I dislike to Sandy. Speaking of Sandy I'm not actually going back to my home, I'm going to my second home.
Sandy and I are basically brother and sister, even her mom and dad accept me as a roomate. There's never a boring day as long as I have Sandy around.
Enough of the rambling, I'm stood near the main entrance and Sandy is sat on one of the steps strapping on her rollerskates so that we can get home faster. I can't wait to get in my bed.
I folded my arms against my chest, looking her up and down sassily. Seriously, could she take any longer!
After what felt like an eternity she stood up with a bubbly, "done!". I sat my skateboard on the ground and pressed off, I could already 6ell what would come. Recently, me and Sandy have been racing eachother to the front gate but I'd totally forgotten.
"Hey, that's cheating!!" She yelled after me, but I just nonchalantly raised a hand as I drifted away. Eventually she managed to catch up but was severely out of breath because unlike me, she forgot what momentum was. Her legs were shaking like Bambi in that one ice scene.
I rolled my eyes, there's no way she'll make it home shaking like that and I'm not slowing down to go at her pace. I stopped my board and turnt around to see her hunched over gasping for air.
"Get on." I said in an annoyed hushed sort of tone. She looked up for a split second like I was mad. "Just take your skates off and hop on I want to get home!" I said in a bit of a complaining voice which made me sound whiney.
I promise I'm not usually this persistent to get home, but today I had PE and they made me do cross country. Safe to say I deserved my bed.
"By the way my parents won't be home today." She stated, taking off her skates whilst sitting on the curb.
"No?" I asked, genuinely curious. Their date night isn't until this weekend so this was news to me.
"Yeah, they'll be away for a few days. They're on a business trip or something? Something work related." Her voice flattened at the end showing her attitude towards business related topics. She stood with her skates in her hand and walked towards my board.
"Don't stand too close to the back or we might flip, do the titanic thing with me." Trust me that was the first thing I could think of. I heard her sigh as she wrapped her arms around my torso.
This sounds like a 'romantic moment' but trust me she is my best friend and nothing more, the thought of that topic makes me sick.
And with that I pushed us down the hill, she lived about 2 blocks over so I shouldn't have to deal with the physical touch for too long.
It was quite an irrelevant journey, we almost got hit by a few carse but nothing new. And finally we were at her Palace. I'm totally joking, but her house was huge.
Wading my way up the path to her front door I was so thrilled to be home. If I was an animal right that second I would've been a golden retriever puppy wagging it's tail as if it'd seen food for the first time.
She jingled the keys and let me in, just like you let a dog out. When I got in I slung my backpack beside the front door and kicked my shoes off, setting them neatly beside it.
I ran over to the couch and dive bombed onto it. I'm not lying when I say I felt myself sink into it. Unlike me, who'd just pedalled about 200 pounds home Sandy was fit as a fiddle.
She came over and layed a fluffy blanket over me. I smiled at the warm soft fabric and nestled my head deeper into the cushions. This has to be the world's comfiest couch.
