Fire lilies

Introduction

"Tell me the story?" A little girl asks while her mother picks flowers, "What story, darling?" The mother looks down at her daughter before picking another red flower, "The story of the Fire lily of course!" The little girl pulls at her mother's dress, making the older woman laugh, "Fine, fine, dear. Pick that last lily for me will you?" The daughter does as told before handing her mother the flower, the woman takes it and places it in her basket before the two sit down. The younger girl wiggles on her little rock while waiting for her mother, "Now. I've told you a bit of the story before... There's more to it that I think you're old enough to know." The mother smiles softly at her daughter before beginning the story.
