never leave my sight again...

it had been so long since you last saw kenshi...you had begun to worry more and more as time went on. you knew he had the ability to free his clan from their terrible fate, but would it really take this long? last time you saw him the two of you talked about him going to get sento, the only symbol of hope to free his clan from ruins...

as time went on you thought of only the worst scenarios...all resulting in kenshi not actually making it out alive...

it was yet another night of these thoughts running rampant from your mind, that was until you heard a clap of thunder which caused you to straighten your posture and look out the dark windows from the comfort of your bed.

rain was pounding down outside, it was so loud...the weather only dampened your mood even more.

a reluctant sigh slips past your lips as you make your way out of your bed and towards your bedroom door, you decided to just stay up a bit longer and watch some netflix or something to get your mind off the weather...and kenshi...

you grabbed a snack from the kitchen and situated yourself comfortably in the living room. as you scroll through the various shows and movies you quickly grow more and more uninterested in everything. nothing seemed to be good enough for you, but before you could move another muscle you could've sworn you heard a knock on your door...

at first you blamed it on the weather, but it stayed persistent and soon the doorbell sounded through the house. you grew paranoid at the late hour, but you reluctantly began to carefully make your way to the door...you peak through the glass and see a man standing just outside the threshold and fear instantly went through you.

who was this man and why was he at your doorstep at this hour? did he really want to hurt you if he decided to make his presence be known? before you could think of anything else the voice called out, "y/n? are you home?" followed by the doorbell once more.

even though the voice was muffled due to him being outside and the weather, you would recognize that voice anywhere..takahashi...

you didn't waste another minute before you quickly began to unlock the door, but before you could get a single word out you freeze...what you couldn't tell before from the darkness of the night you now saw clearly upon opening the door...

looking up to the man you longed to see for so long you notice a blindfold covering his beautiful eyes. you were beyond confused and the only thing you were able to even say was only his name, "kenshi?" your voice was so broken, fragile, and kenshi could tell.

"y/n...god i've missed your voice..." his sweet voice spoke and you felt your eyes tear up...you didn't waste another second to pull yourself into his arms, not caring about his soaking wet clothes...

you sobbed into his chest as you mutter, "what happened," you slightly back up and gaze up at him, where a blindfold sits atop his eyes, "why are you wearing that?" "i- uh...it's a long story..." bringing this up seemed to break him. it was almost like he didn't want to talk about it with you, like it was too painful for him to tell you...but you couldn't just let it go, not something like this.

"come in and please...tell me everything...don't miss out a single detail because you've been gone for too long takahashi." you heard him sigh and just from that you knew he wouldn't lie to you about his whereabouts, he could never lie to you...

you take his hand in yours and guide him inside and towards the living room, he seats himself on your couch and you stood before him...silently studying him in the light as he sat a sheathed sword down on the cushions... "i can tell you're staring." "sorry, it's just...i don't understand...um do you want me to get you something before you tell me everything?" "maybe some tea?" "alright, just give me a few minutes and i'll be right back..."
