"I don't know, Aiden." sighed David as he put a stack of Daisy's clean clothes inside a drawer and slammed its door shut, making Aiden who had leaned on the bedroom's doorframe wince a bit.
"My fucking mind is not working. Just make sure that you present the design perfectly." he said annoyed. "The price is not important for us when it comes to Black Int. Just the name of them in our resume is enough to have customers from across the globe. So if they want a good discount then give them a fucking discount."
"Okay, I can't take any more of your shit." groaned Aiden and plopped down on his bed. "What's going on with you? You are in this shitty mode since yesterday. Just forget about that drunken good-for-nothing man already."
David placed both of his hands on top of the drawer, leaned his weight on them, and dropped his head. His mind was a jumbled mess after what Sarah had told him last night. It wasn't the first time that someone had called him cruel or heartless, but hearing it from Sarah, even her sugar-coated words, had bothered him a lot.
"Has something happened between you and Sarah?" Asked Aidensuspiciously as he leaned his forearms on his knees and watched David intently. Noting David's silence, he let out a soft chuckle and dropped his head while rubbing his hands. "Okay, What happened?"
"Nothing." said David dismissively and walked toward his bed and grabbed his suit jacket, slipping it on.
Aiden exhaled loudly and stood up, shoving his hands in his pockets. "You say nothing but clearly it is bothering you." he said.
"Drop it, Aiden." grunted David. "Let's go. We are going to be late."
Taking his briefcase and Daisy's bag, he began walking toward the door, only to be stopped as Aiden grabbed his arm. He gazed at Aiden and found him already looking at him with concern.
"Listen, David." said Aiden. "I know how you are hurting from Catherine's betrayal. If it was any other girl like that bitch I would have said screw her and don't give a fuck about her and her feelings and opinions."
David's brows furrowed upon hearing Aiden's words, wondering where his brother was trying to get.
"But this is Sarah we are talking about." continued Aiden, looking at David softly. "I can't believe I'm saying this about a woman other than Annie, but Sarah is really an angel. You can't find someone like her every day. She is wise, nonjudgmental, and generous. And these are only a few of her good attributes and I know she is not faking. I'm good at reading women."
David sighed and dropped his eyes. He knew Aiden was right about his claim. He had warned him long ago about Catherine, but he had never listened.
Aiden squeezed his shoulder and gained his attention again. "What I'm trying to say is that she is a woman worth fighting for." he spoke. "I'm not sure, but I think you are attracted to her and despite Catherine, this time I really encourage you to pursue this feeling. You need someone like Sarah by your side. She is good for you."
"I think it's late for saying this." sighed David again and looked at Aiden and for the first time in a long time, Aiden saw an emotion other than anger in his brother's always emotionless eyes, although it was scary to see a cloud of worry and sadness there, knowing that a ocean was behind that cloud.
"What do you mean?" Aiden questioned with confusion.
"I think she reconsidered her thoughts about me last night." explained David and looked away while clenching his fists. "Last night's fight made her realize what kind of a monster I am."
Aiden's frown intensified, but as he opened his mouth to say something, they heard someone knocking on the door of the flat.
"Who's this?" asked Aiden. "It's Sarah?"
