THE FIRST DAY WAS QUIET. EVERYONE WAS PRETTY TIRED,
so they all stayed to themselves.
an air bnb was reserved for everyone, everyone having their own room. alex stood at her bed, taking her clothes out of the suitcase and moving things to the dresser and closet.
she was in love. the house was gorgeous, the area was gorgeous, brazil was somewhere she had never imagined going.
a knock erupted on her door, making her turn her head to the door as she was in the closet. "come in!"
it opened, showing a tall, buff man she had only ever seen at the games.
"hey, am i interrupting anything?" he asked kindly, alex shaking her head as she walked out of the closet.
"no, not at all. everything okay?"
"yeah! yeah, i just wanted to introduce myself formally. i'm bokuto koutarou, but you can call me bo or boko or koutarou or anything you like really."
she laughed at his enthusiasm, a soft smile on her face. "it's nice to meet you, i'm alex. how long have you known everyone?"
"since high school. i went against all those dorks in my young years." he sighed, dramatically staring at the ceiling. she laughed again. sitting at the side of her bed closest to him, crossing her arms.
"and how old do you happen to be now!"
"oh i'm 23." she laughed at this response, finding it amusing that he referred to just about 5 years ago.
"what's so funny hmm?" he raised an eyebrow, a funny expression on his face.
"oh nothingg." she smiled, calming herself down. "say, bokuto, wanna come to the beach with me before the sun goes down?"
he nodded profusely, smiling. "i'm gonna ask a few others too."

they all drove to the beach, rowdy. sakusa had decided to join last minute, wanting to watch over alex.
they got out of the car, walking to the sand. it was hot, burning their feet with each step.
it was 3 pm and the sun was still beating down on their skin, making them squint and sweat. alex set a blanket down for herself, dropping her items on each corner of it. she kicked her sandals off, a prominent smile on her face.
she looked around, seeing a few of the boys already in the water. she chuckled, pulling her tank top off along with her jean shorts, tucking them in her bag.
she sat on her blanket, running her fingers through her hair as she looked around.
sakusa walked over to her slowly, towering behind her. she saw the shadow, putting her head back to see who it was. she saw his face, a soft frown coming to her lips.
