I hop down off of Azra and flip onto the ship shooting the female avatar in the side that held me at gun point earlier. I hit another avatar back with my bow before shooting a Sky Person in the face. Quickly, I raise my bow back and shoot the previous woman in the face, finishing her off. As Jake and Neytiri emerge from the smoke I grab my arrows and continue on my way, hopping over the railing and landing on the stairs near Quaritch. He starts to shoot at me and I dodge out of the way, sliding down a crashed helicopter and behind a large contraption. As they continue to shoot I wait for the perfect moment to attack. I jump out and quickly shoot a sky person before hiding behind something else.
I jump on top of things above them, making my way behind them before sending an arrow into the back of another sky person. An avatar starts to shoot at my but I hit his gun down with my bow before the bullets can hit me. I hit him int the head with my bow knocking him out before shooting a Sky Person through there mask. I hide behind the helicopter, a Sky Person coming at me, but before I can shoot it, Jake does the honors with his gun. I take my arrow out of the last Sky Person I shot and quickly shoot another one. I make my way over to another Sky Person that I shot, taking my arrow back.
As another one comes around the corner, I get ready to shoot him but Neytiri beats me too it.
"It's Mom!" I hear Tuk yell and I continue on my way. I hop down from the ledge and hit two unsuspecting Sky People with my bow before shooting arrows through one of their skulls. The other one crawls on the ground and I quickly rush over to him and grab him by his shirt. I stab my knife into his chest, wide-eyed as I scream at him with heavy breaths. I continue to stab him repeatedly. Again and again. The same motion, repeating itself as I'm blinded by my own rage.
All I can think about is Lo'ak and how his eyes faded away as he took his last breaths. How his hand dropped out of mine and his gaze faltered. His last words ring in my head and I realize that he was right. We were just a losing game. We were a losing game because of Quaritch and his mob of goons and I know that Quaritch has to be out of the picture even if it takes my last dying breath to do so.
I hiss and continue to snarl as I get up from the body and start looking for my next target. I hear Quaritch in the distance and my head snaps that way.
"You already lost one kid today. You really wanna lose another?" he asks. I start to circle the perimeter and I see Jake with his weapons drawn and Neteyam guarding Tuk behind him. Jake starts to charge at Quaritch but is quickly stopped when Quaritch yells, "Do not test me!"
"Just kill him, Dad!" Kiri cries out and Quaritch tightens his grip on his knife causing her to jerk her head upwards.
"Kiri," Tuk cries.
"Weapons down," Quaritch orders. I can see in Jakes eyes that he's struggling with this but he knows what he has to do for his daughter.
"Don't. Don't do it," Kiri tells Jake.
"Down!" Quaritch repeats. Jake lowers to the ground and sets his weapons on the floor. "Kick 'em away." Jake hesitates for a moment. "Do it!" He kicks them away with a scowl on his face. Spider runs up next to me and I see his gaze setting on Kiri. I give him a warning look.
"Spider no!" I whisper sternly to him shaking my head.
"Cuff yourself," I hear Quaritch say to Jake and my gaze turns back to the scene.
"I have to," Spider runs from our hiding spot out into the open. I try to grab him but he's already gone. I remain hidden, waiting for the right moment to pounce on Quaritch. I have to make sure Kiri is safe first.
"No! No, don't hurt her, okay?" Spider says as he runs towards Quaritch.
"Stand there!" Quaritch demands him and he stops in his tracks. "Don't move! Not a step." He turns his attention back to Jake. "Cuffs on. Now."
"You son of a bitch," Jake hisses as him as he cuffs one of his wrists. Out of the corner of my eye I see Neytiri running around the corner and my eyes widen as she heads straight towards Spider.
"Please don't hurt her," Spider pleads right before Neytiri grabs him and puts a knife to his throat. Quaritch's head snaps in her direction with a look of disbelief.
"Release," Neytiri orders. "Or I cut." I see the terrified look on Spider's face and I start to inch closer, holding my knife tightly in my hand.
"What, you think I care about some kid?" Quaritch asks and shakes his head. "He's not mine. We're not even the same species."
"Just please don't... don't hurt her," Spider cries out. "Just please let her go. Please!"
"Don't kill him," Kiri begs her mother.
"Listen to me!" Spider pleads. "Let her go. Don't hurt her." I can see Quaritch's gaze start to falter a little bit and I know it's about to be my chance.
"Mom, don't kill him," Kiri says.
"A son for a son," Neytiri hisses.
"Please don't hurt her," Spider repeats. Neytiri slashes her knife across Spiders's chest causing blood to trickle down from it. He cries out in pain and I can see the fear in Spider's eyes start to increase.
"I cut," Neytiri tells Quaritch.
"Please just let her go, okay?" Spider pleads with his father once again. "Just let her go." Neytiri screams and raises her knife getting ready to plunge in into Spider's chest.
"No!" Quaritch yells and raises his knife from Kirk's throat but still hangs tightly onto her braid. He gives Neytiri a scowl before throwing Kiri onto the ground and away from him. She rushes over towards the rest of her family next to Jake. But Neytiri doesn't release Spider and puts her knife back to his throat.
"Baby? Baby, what're you doing?" Jake asks her with wide eyes. I inch closer getting ready to make my move.
"You're really gonna kill a kid, Mrs. Sully?" Quaritch asks her, holding his knife and the ready.
"Mom, enough," Kiri begs her, breathing heavily. "Enough" Kiri touches her arms but quickly jumps back when Neytiri snarls at her. "Stop."
"Baby. Baby let him go," Jake tells her giving her a pleading look.
"A son for a son," Neytiri repeats herself.
"You're a warrior," Quaritch says. "Your fights with me. Not with a boy"
"Baby listen to me," Jake tries to reason with her. "You don't wanna do this. Okay? You don't wanna do this." Neytiri doesn't listen to him and raises her knife getting ready to plunge in into Spider's chest. I jump out of the shadows and pull him away.
And in one swift motion on got right back up and jumped onto Quaritch holding my knife to his throat. He hold his hands up in surrender and my gaze settles on the knife in his hand.
"Drop it," I hiss at him and tighten my grip on my knife, holding it closer to his throat. "You took everything from me. Now I get to take everything from you." He chuckles.
"Aww I'm sorry. Did I kill your little boyfriend," He mocks me.
"He was my mate," I snarl at him, getting ready to slice his throat. He sees this as his opportunity and knocks his head back into mine causing me to fall off of him and onto the floor. He turns around and places his boot onto my stomach holding me in place.
"Leyreya!" Jake cries out. I look over to see the Sully family looking at me with wide eyes. I give them one last smile as I know was about to happen. "No!" Quaritch plunges his knife into my abdomen and I cry out in pain. My eyes widen as I look down at it. He takes it out and I quickly try to cover my wound, blood spilling all over my hands.
Jake and Neytiri hold their knives towards Auaritch getting ready for a fight.
"Neteyam, Spider, get them out of here," Jake tells them and they start to walk away. Neytiri rushes over to me as I see Jake and Quaritch circling each other.
"Oh, no, no, no," she cries out, placing her hand on my wound.
"It's okay," I tell her. "I get to be with Lo'ak now." I smile at her as I feel myself getting more tired. I know that I won't last for too much longer.
"Everything is going to be okay," she reassures me. "We will be okay. You can rest now." She places a kiss onto my forehead. "My beautiful daughter." I try to smile but everything starts to fade away from me. Her voice gets quieter. I can no longer hear the blazing of the fire and my vision starts to blur as I feel arms wrap around me and a strong heartbeat starts to fill my ears.
