Dravyja Brichalet
Dravyja, 110, and Grim, 150, had both lived in the city of Merik their whole lives. Merik wasn't always in the state it was now, actually before it was more cheery and..welcoming. But ever since Gredlin took over the throne and gained power over the people, it became a dark city.
Different shops and taverns had come and go, which typically they were familiar with, but there was one. The Dragon's Rose. It was a newer tavern, only have been open for a year. However it seemed to grow quite the attractions considering the amount of people that were in and out of it constantly.
The tavern itself was rather exquisite from the outside. The support beams were made of a beautiful dark oak, and the outside wall was a darker red, crested with a few black crack designs in the wall here and there. It definitely stood out from the others, making it a bigger attraction.
Deciding it was time for a change, both Grim and Dravyja stood outside, pushing through the doors with a shorter man following in behind them.
At first glance you could definitely tell the place was busy, there being very few empty spots to sit, chatter filling the whole place. The inside was just as beautiful as the outside. The lanterns on the wall and the ones hanging above the bar itself were perfectly placed to give some of the best lighting they had seen.
As the two split and went to separate sides of the place, Dravyja watched the shorter male approach the bartender, tuning in on their conversation like the nosey little las that she was.
"I need something really strong, what do you got?" He had asked the bartender. "I've got lots, but I do suppose Vodka is one of our strongest if you-" The man interrupted the bartender. "I'll take it, please just bring me a big glass." There was a momentarily made pause as this man chugged a good third of this glass of vodka before he answered. "I'm Theren, and you are?" "Freyleth." The bartender, or who she could now call Freyleth, responded.
"So how did you wind up here in Merik? It's not like it's very welcoming here anymore, especially with everything going on now. You know, monsters and what not." Freyleth trailed off. "Oh yeah" Theren had about two thirds of his drink gone by this point. "You see I ran away from home, my parents were abusive and I just had about enough of it."
"Ah well, sorry to hear. I would suggest getting a place to stay tonight, maybe a room or something. It isn't exactly the safest, not the smartest to roam around at night anymore." He suggested to Theren. "Hah, no I'm good, there's no need for me to be scared considering where I came from." He let out a heavy sigh. "All I need tonight is myself, and this glass of alcohol."
Dravyja drew her attention away from the two and tried to find sight of Grim, which wasn't hard to do since he was 6'7. Across from her on the other side of the bar, he was talking up his own conversation with some of the nobles. If she could bet on it, he was probably asking about some magic. Grim had an odd obsession.
The table behind her began talking, well more like whispering but it wasn't quiet enough to be unheard by Dravyja.
"Have you been hearing the screams too?" One spoke. "Yeah it's been crazy, I can't believe it took Old Jim, that poor man was the only joy left here." The second voice sounded female, Dravyja couldn't make out what they looked like though as she was facing the other direction, and seeming as they were whispering she assumed they didn't want to be heard.
