Cariad's POV
Three days. It had been three days since the cafe shut and I was starting to become extremely bored. Damian hadn't talked to me since we went to the city, and Calum, well he didn't matter. He had messaged me a few times and I had seen him at the football pitch a few times, he never saw me, he was always too focused.
"Carrie?" My mother called as she pushed open my bedroom door. "You are taking Kit to football today right? I mean I know you said he settled well last time, but..." she trailed off.
"Uh sure," I mumbled. "What time is-"
"6 till about 7, 7:30, thank you so much," she sighed gratefully before walking out and shutting the door behind her.
I stared blankly at my tv. I would probably see Calum again, which made me feel an odd mixture of excitement and anxiety.
I shrugged it off as I pulled the covers away from myself. I had been in bed all day, and it was 4 o'clock.
I sluggishly walked down the corridor and down the stairs. I sat down in the kitchen and propped my head up on my hands.
Faintly, I could see my dad and mother stood out in the garden, but the almost opaque glass made it hard to make out facial features. I could only make out a soft conversation. No loud shouts or frustrated sighs.
"Are they fighting?" Kit asked quietly as he entered the kitchen.
I shook my head. "It doesn't sound like it,"
Kit sat down next to me and I smiled.
"Are you uh- excited for football?" I turned slightly to face him.
He shrugged as he bit at his nails.
The back door slowly creaked open and my mother slipped inside. "Hi, kids," She sighed, forcing a smile at us.
I bit down on my lip as my dad followed her inside.
"Hi, mum," I said back. "and dad,"
My mother smiled. "Kit your football stuff is ready and on the ironing board,"
He nodded and jumped down off his chair to grab his stuff.
"Yeah I'll get ready too," I mumbled following suit with Kit by leaving.
I slowly made my way into the bathroom to shower quickly.
The rhythmic pitter patter drummed softly on my shoulders.
After washing my hair I stepped out.
I quickly dried off and left the bathroom to change.
I combed out the knots in my hair and dried it.
"Carrie!" My mother called.
"Yeah?" I shouted back.
"Hurry up he has to leave soon!"
I rolled my eyes as I pulled my tshirt over my head.
"I'm coming!" I yelled as I shimmied a pair of black jeans up my legs.
I wished I could pull off the whole grungy ripped black jeans, lip pierced, choker necklace look, but I couldn't. I looked far too innocent, that's why I decided to adopt funny slogan tees and converse.
"Ready, Kit?" I asked as I reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Yup," he said, smiling sheepishly.
"Bye!" I called as I shut the front door behind us.
"Um, I heard your cafe got closed," he said shakily.
I smiled at his attempt at a conversation with me. "Yeah my boss wants to re decorate, I'll take you there for a hot chocolate when it's done if you want,"
