"Are you accusing the Jeon pack? Which by proxy is accusing my pack, Chaeyeon." Minho asks me tensely.

"I'm not accusing anyone Minho. I'm simply telling you and Jeongho what I have been told. I have no evidence at this point of who is responsible, but someone is. I thought it important that you know of the possibility of the Jeon pack being involved, so that you could look into it yourself." I explain to the alpha, trying to keep my own voice level.

"Exactly you have no evidence, so to come here and bring what is essentially my pack into this mess is ridiculous Chaeyeon." Minho almost growls.

"Myself and every single heir in my pack is being threatened. So forgive me for wanting to look at every possible lead I'm given. I am not going to stand by and do nothing when someone is putting my pack at risk." I growl at the wolf in front of me.

Minho growls back at me and I almost jump across the table at him when Jeongho speaks "Enough." The council leader sighs "Minho do your due diligence and look into it. She is giving you the courtesy of handling it yourself instead of starting a pack war, like she has the right to do given the circumstances."

Minho clenches his jaw, but nods and stands from his seat "I will let you know what I find out."

"Thank you."

He simply nods before leaving. Jeongho sighs again "Any other suspects that I should know about?"

"The Min pack. Geumjae has been giving me trouble since day one. He is all of a sudden trying to make amends but Yoongi doesn't trust him and neither do I."

Jeongho nods "That is a more likely option than the Jeon pack, but I understand you not wanting to just jump to conclusions either. I'm sorry that you are already dealing with so much so soon after losing your father and becoming pack alpha. I've heard there hasn't even been anytime for you and your mate to hold a ceremony."

"There has not and given the present circumstances there won't be anytime soon."

Jeongho nods "I understand. But you may want to consider doing it privately in case this is Geumjae's doing. Tying Yoongi to your pack will help avoid Geumjae simply taking it and him, if all of this is his doing."

"I know. Chaewon brought it up yesterday. Yoongi and I haven't discussed it yet."

"Well, if you are worried about doing it on your lands, I will gladly lend you ours. That way it can be done and then once this is all over, you can hold a proper one on your lands the way it should be."

I bow my head in thanks "I appreciate the offer Jeongho, I will bring it up to my mate." I sigh and stand myself, feeling like I need to get back to my pack "I'm sorry that I am dragging everyone into something again. This really isn't how I want things to be."

Jeongho waves me off "You can't help the actions of others. You are doing well Chaeyeon. Your father would be very proud of you."

"Thank you."

Jeongho dismisses me so that I can head back to my lands. Once home, Chanyeol practically tackles me at the door, demanding to know how it went. I tell him everything and he is as surprised by Minho's behavior as I am, but he says that if he were Minho he would probably be just as defensive if someone called a meeting and basically accused his pack of putting a hit out on another with no evidence.

It's an opinion I can't disagree with, but I still expect some respect and benefit of the doubt when it comes to a situation like this. I ask if he knows where my mate is and he informs me that Yoongi is actually in the gym training with Hyunwoo, but that they should be done relatively soon.
