A system with unknown purpose and goal, made just for distinctive souls to fulfill their destiny, filing in the cracks in fables in order for stories to go according to fates will.

We call those souls Fatuus for a singular soul and fatui in plural.

Achilles is a Fatuus; who got once in a thousand lifetime opportunity of being unshackled in a fable. Lout of Counts family, how well will he fare, is everything as it seems?
_______________

I was an aristocrat before my death; very arrogant, selfish, naïve, and self centred.

My parents couldn't afford to live a mid-core lifestyle, when they lost everything. Due to a massive power struggle within the household.

So they 'left' and I had to take care of what remaining land we had including the people living there.

Everything was slowly and steadily getting better, as I got older, but my people didn't seem to see that. Or rather they refuted to do so....

Murdering me in cold blood, I think they thought that they could take better care of themselves and the land.

I was fourteen then, awakening in a white space, with glowing blue screen greeting a newborn Fatuus.
_______________

Achilles blinked blankly at the screen only to flinch because of his rude sarcastic system. Who thought it was a good idea to play loud sounds of fireworks, while simultaneously blowing holographic confetti and glitter on his face.

Where it got such an attitude he'd never know, but it was weird to Achilles since when he first met his system; it seemed monotonous and robotic.

Leaning on his expensive and comfortable couch much alike to a tyrant with his aggravated expression. His silvery grey eyes rolled over in annoyance and irritation.

Achilles had won a free ticket to a story; Trash of The Counts Family, to be exact. Why wasn't he happy with it? Because he had free reign over that world, free to use the powers and skills he's accumulated from the past transmigrations.

But the thing was depending on the body he would be in, he could not use those powers. Not to mention how many threats there are in that world... it wouldn't be wrong to say he's a bit perturbed.

The whole situation seemed fishy to him, why would one of the prizes be so invaluable, he knew one thing from his past lives. There is no such things as coincidence; with the system's.

"I could wait another few century's not spending any more merits"

Tilting his head sideways in a condescending manner, his smirk could only be described as devilish. (Yeah where indeed did the system get its attitude from I wonder? 😒)
