The two girls walk up a single flight of stairs, leading to a no longer glowing door of Bruno. Mirabel opened the door with a grunt as the door did not open with ease.

“Woah…” (Y/N)’s jaw dropped at the sight.

The first thing they saw when they entered was an archway shaped like an hourglass, but what was unique was that the archway was pouring a continuous stream of sand.

“Casita, can you turn off the sand?” Mirabel questioned, looking back at the doorway.

The floor tiles only moved from before the doorway and not in the room they were standing in.

“You can't help in here?” Mirabel translated the rumbling of the tiles, “We'll be fine.” She turned around and held the strap of her bag tightly, “I need to do this, for you, for Abuela…”

“And for you.” (Y/N) added with a pointed look.

Mirabel gave her a sheepish smile, “And maybe for me.”

(Y/N) held her hand out to Mirabel, squeezing her hand tightly once their hands connected, “All we gotta do is find the vision, then we save the mir-aaahhhh!”

They stepped through the archway and felt the floor no longer underneath them. Hands still holding tightly to each other, they slid face first down a mountain of sand.

(Y/N) stood up first and knocked sand out of her ear as Mirabel cleared the sand from her glasses. The two took a step forward and looked up, seeing what looked like a never-ending stairwell.

“Everyone is right, Bruno is evil.” (Y/N) said with a deadpan tone, seeing all the stairs they will have to climb.

A toucan then flew towards them and landed on a rock.

“Oh, hello.” Mirabel greeted the bird, “Lotta stairs, but at least I'll (Y/N) and a new friend…”

(Y/N) giggled as she watched the bird fly away, “Nope, he flew away immediately.”

“Alright, let's do this.” Mirabel tried to motivate herself and her friend.

At first, it wasn't so bad, but then the longer they were climbing those stairs, the more exhausted they began to feel. There were so many stairs, and at one point, Mirabel was dragging (Y/N) behind her, holding on to her foot to drag her up because the girl decided to give up.

The sweet relief they felt, though, once they made it to the top was short lived as they saw the bridge they needed to cross was broken.

“You know I never met your Tio Bruno, and I am glad right now.” (Y/N) huffed as she grabbed some rope, “Because I would be exchanging some really bad words to him.”

“Oh hush.” Mirabel smiled, which turned to a nervous one, “So who's going across first because I would do it, but I am not sure how to do it. But if you go first, I feel bad because I could be putting you in danger. Then again, if I go…”

“Aye dios mios, I'll go.” (Y/N) sighed and eyed the space between where they stood and the other side.

She took a couple of steps back and gave it a running start. Her feet pushed off the ledge, and she successfully swung to the other side.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she turns back towards Mirabel and throws the rope back, “Alright, you're turn!”

Mirabel catches the rope and looks terrified as down at the crevice below, “I can do this…” She took a deep breath and leaped forward.

Her feet kicked and dangled as the rope carried her across, and the minute her feet touched solid ground, she threw her hands up in the air, letting out a shout of relief.
