Scrimbles awakes. His skin glistens in the midday sun as he rolls over on his couch. He slept through most of the day again. While this was not uncommon for him, it upset him that he missed the entire day again. He doesn't leave the house anymore since the divorce. All he could do was sleep, and even then it was restless. Thoughts of his ex and his son during the good times clouded his memory and kept him up at night. He wondered where they were now, he wondered if they were happier without him.
He sits up. The apartment around him is in shambles. Empty beer cans litter the ground. The walls are bare and stained, the paint peeling from years of neglect. A fine layer of dust coats everything. The coffee table was cluttered with objects. Used plates, dirty napkins, an old TV remote. The TV in front of him hummed with the sounds of a midday soap opera he must've fallen asleep to. The couch is stained and torn, his blankets are worn thin. He notices an empty spot on the table. His disk is gone.
Frantically scrimbles pushes aside the dirty plates, checks the floor, pats down his pockets. The disk is nowhere to be found. His JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders Original OST Vinyl Soundtrack with Enhanced Audio is missing. A CD he'd rather die than lose. He left it right there on the table. How long had he been out? He searches the apartment to no avail and is suddenly left with only one option. He gathered his coat and left his apartment.

Scrimbles hesitates at the front door. He gives himself a pep talk. It's a door he's been at countless times before, what used to be his home, his door. He sighs and knocks on the door. No answer. He knocks again and the door opens. A tall man with long dark hair pulled half up answers the door.
"Scrimbles, what the hell are you doing here?" He says. There's venom in his voice. Scrimbles is not a welcome visitor.
"Suguru let me explain." Scrimbles says, not meeting his eyes. Suguru crosses his arms across his chest. It had been several years since his and Scrimbles divorce, a divorce that hurt him as much as it hurt Scrimbles. He looks skeptical as Scrimbles continues talking. "Suguru, I know we've been through a lot. I didn't treat yo as well as I should have and I'm so sorry for the ways I have failed you before. Everyday I think of you, everyday I miss you and I miss our son. For nearly 30 years you were a part of me and I was a part of you, living without you is agony Suguru." Suguru's gaze softens. He looks hurt.
"Scrimbles I've already told you, I can't do this with you anymore. I loved you for so long, and what you did, you threw it away. I can't handle you anymore, it breaks my heart but I need to look out for myself, Scrimbles." Suguru has pain in his eyes. He was being genuine. For years he and Scrimbles had loved eachother, but that had changed. They divorced for a reason. Still, the teenage girl inside of Suguru filled him with hope that true love was real and Scrimbles would say the right thing. Scrimbles hesitated before opening his mouth.
"Suguru, I need to know, have you seen my JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders Original OST Vinyl Soundtrack with Enhanced Audio?" Instantly all the warmth Suguru felt left his body. "Are you shitting me?" He shouted, feeling like he was exploding. Tears formed at the corners of his eyes, his chest felt tight. A feeling he knew too well, born from a situation he's been in far too many times. Again, Scrimbles had played him like a fiddle.
"Our son has been missing for months and you come here asking about some stupid disk? What the hell is wrong with you? This is why we divorced, Scrimbles!" Everything that had been weighing on Suguru he let go, his son was missing. Their son was missing.
Scrimbles froze, all the color drained from his face even in the hot summer sun. "Our son....is missing? Our beautiful boy, our adult son? He's...He's gone?" Scrimbles looked lost, there was no life in his eyes. He lost his son, Suguru lost their son. He thought back to all their times together, before the divorce, how innocent his beautiful son was. "You lost him?" Scrimbles asked, still numb and left reeling from the shock. Suguru looked offended. "I lost him? He's an adult Scrimbles, and I have been looking for months! You only just heard about this! How many times have you tried to reach out, to check in on how he was, where were you, Scrimbles?" Suguru spat. "At least I didn't lose our kids!" Scrimbles quipped. The tension could be finely diced with a knife it was so thick. "I'm leaving" Scrimbles said, turning and walking back the way he came, leaving Suguru alone at the door. "Fine, it's what you do best anyways, you fucking skinwalker" Suguru muttered as he slammed the door on his ex-lover. Only one thought filled Scrimble's head as he walked away. I can't believe it, my poor adult son, all alone out there in the dangerous world, vaping.... I know I wasn't there, I know I wasn't the best father, but Choso, I promise, I will find you!
