                      {Secretly Mine}

As the ballroom danced, the chandeliers were above twinkling in amusement.

However, I was not amused.
My fingers clenched into a heavy fist as I watched Vivian and some strangers hold each other close. Partaking in a dance of passion, their gloved hands touching, wanting for more.

I know I shouldn't feel this way, especially towards her. But, I couldn't help it.
I took a large gulp of my auburn liquid, spinning around in my crystal cup.

"Christian?" I felt a soft tap on my shoulder, I flinched in surprise.
"Yes, Deborah?" I asked, lowering my gaze to meet hers. I saw her lips curl into a taunting laugh, her gloved hand reaching up to cover her beautiful smile lines.

I so did wish she wouldn't, I reached over and gently held her wrist and brought her hand down to see her true smile.
"What are you looking at?"
"Nothing." I lied.

My eyes looked down to the cold stone floors, where the orange hues flashed downwards. "You are my brother, of course I know if something is bothering you."
She said in a knowingly tone. My hand slowly slipped off of her wrist and fell to my side. "Nothing, nothing at all."

I said in a voice a little harsher then intended. I didn't want to think about this at the moment, I wanted to flee her presence.
I lifted my head to meet her gaze, her eyebrows a millimeter higher than usual, her lips parted into something of shock.
"I'll be in the garden if you need me." My tone softened, but my aura did not.

I placed my cup on a servers tray that was passing us, and I made haste to the garden. I slowly inched the doors further apart and closed them gently, hoping not to make too much of a noise.

My jaw was working, and my heart was pounding against my chest, entirely against my will. I took a deep breath and walked over to the flower bed where roses and tulips lay, buried within the soil.

My fingers caress one of the petals, illumated by the moonlight casted down upon me. Suddenly, I heard a ruffle.

And my head shot up, and my back straightened. I heard a muffled sigh, accompanied by soft footsteps approaching closer.
