The lack of charm because of Shrini's absence occupied the palace. Devaki sat thinking about her son quietly as soon as the new day started.
A maid came running to her, she was Rukmini's chief attendant.
" The princess of Ratnagarbha is ill. She fainted " she reported.
Devaki was baffled.
" Get the Vaidya soon " Devaki ordered and hurried out.
" Venkateshwara, my son is not here! He left his wives under our care, let no trouble greet us again. Shower your blessings on Rukmini" She prayed stepping into Rukmini's chamber.
" Rukmini what's the matter?" Devaki asked sitting next to her. Lines of tension were evident on her face.
" Atte" Rukmini woke up. " I am all fine relax please " She said pressing her palms softly.
" But what happened to you?" Suvarnavati entered the chamber.
" I am fine Akka, nothing to worry. It's normal" Rukmini smiled.
" Fainting is normal?" Devaki chided Rukmini.
" Atte, I am totally fine. Nothing to worry, you please relax " Rukmini said with a smile of assurance.
" I have sent for Vaidya. You rest here " Devaki smiled.
" Why? There was no need for it Atte. I know what happened to me " Rukmini replied looking down.
Suvarnavati understood the matter just by Rukmini's gestures.
" Chikkatte!" She exclaimed. " She is pregnant" Suvarnavati declared making Rukmini to blush even more.
The news reached Vasudeva in no time. His happiness knew no bounds.
" Thank you Rukmini " He said pulling her into an affectionate fatherly embrace.
" You should have said this to Shrini too. Poor him " Vedavati commented.
" If he knew about this he would have never allowed the thought of Deshatane. He should know the world. It's essential. That's why we both didn't disclosed the news earlier. I know, you all will take a good care of me, I am happy " Rukmini smiled.

Vijaya sat tossing the pebbles into the waters of Kapila. While his eyes were glued to the pair of anklets which he held. The anklets belonged to Prabha.
