Unable to meet his gaze, she cast her (e/c) eyes downward, concealing the tears that threatened to betray her emotions. Acting on instinct, she embraced him tightly, a sense of foreboding gripping her as if she sensed impending doom for the person she had cherished as a brother.

He reciprocated her embrace, encircling her with his arms as her quiet sniffles filled the air in their tight embrace. "Please," she pleaded between sobs, "promise to send letters once you arrive in the States. I long to hear every detail of your journey."

Jonathan chuckled softly, gently resting his head against hers as he reassured her, "Of course, (n/n), I'll keep you informed." Despite her tears, his amusement at her emotional display was evident.

As their embrace gradually loosened, he offered a solemn nod. "Farewell, then," he murmured, bowing his head one final time before boarding the boat with his newlywed wife, Erina.

















However, what she hadn't anticipated was the accuracy of her instincts. The person she had believed was long gone turned out to be alive after all.
