As much as Y/N liked being a Corvette, what sucked about it was his short range. Sure he could slow to save fuel, but it meant allowing submarines to target him, so 20 knots it was, which gave him a 3,000 NM range, but it also meant he was out of fuel in 150 hours. As much as he wanted to slow to ten knots and have the better part of a month out at sea, he still didn't want to have unplanned encounters with submarines ----especially the Iron Blood U-boats. They were still sore about him after he won Bismarck's sword and all of her spending money after she lost six consecutive games of black jack at his underground casino.

Since then, the girls of the Iron Blood were headhunting him.

The Royal Navy hated him less than the other factions, but hated him none the less due to the fact he was a loose cannon. Also the fact he Charged the factions Double for jobs. Azur lane on the other hand kept pestering him to join their naval breakfast club.

Even though he has APDS rounds for his Dardo, it was more or less a joke against the other Kansen, and like all Corvettes, he simply wasn't meant to perform fleet duties, and the weapons the ship girls packed would mean the death of him if he got within range of them.

Y/N as of now was entertaining port a city of Iberia. The relief on his face was replaced by horror when he saw his worst nightmare sitting in port: A light Cruiser of the Royal navy----and given he had 40 tons of fuel left, there was no choice but the entire port to refuel. Slowing to 8 knots, Y/N lumbered into a peer as crews working on the docks began working with his crew to moor the ship. Shore power lines were connected as hoses were strung to start topping the two fuel tanks of the vessel.

Getting a good look at the light Cruiser, Y/N face palmed. Of all cruisers it had to be Arethusa. "Um, sir, she's hailing us."

"Just tell her I'm asleep or something," answered Y/N.

The communications officer paled and recoiled, as Arethusa said to him on the Line, "Idiot! I'm coming over there to get him out of bed. Myself!"

It was at this moment Y/N saw from the windows of his bridge the blue haired Kansen striding towards his docked ship. He simply couldn't face her at close range. While his Dardo had APDS rounds, it was a joke against the armor of a light Cruiser. He'd have to entertain her.

He disliked Tsunades, and Arethusa was a card carrying member. Plus he'd wished she'd just stop beating around the bush in conversation. This encounter was not going to have a happy ending. Especially since she kept pestering him to cook for her

To make matters worse, her six inch guns had enough punch to go through the two inches of kevlar armor around the VLS shafts. It terrified him, the thought of 20 tons of HE going up if that was hit, and deleting him.

He simply couldn't face her in harbor. His greatest strength was his low radar cross section, and his missiles. Both of which were invalidated by the fact he was only a hundred feet from HMS Arethusa.

He was going to have to put up with her. Stepping outside, the blue haired girl stood.

She attempted to slap him, but Y/N grabbed her hand and said, "Not here

She attempted to slap him, but Y/N grabbed her hand and said, "Not here."

She calmed, and Y/N released her hand. Looking Y/N stern in the eye, Arethusa said to her, "You idiot! Why didn't you let any of us know you've left? I was worried sick about you!"

"The job was done. Plus, you know how the others see me," said Y/N, "If you like, I can give you coffee and cheesecake."

"Cake?" said Arethusa as she perked up.

Scene Change

The two Kansen sat in Y/N's office that was part of his stateroom. The Captain's stateroom was aft of the ship below the main deck. The wave-piercing reverse deadrise hull was extremely stable in most sea states, so it was a cozy place to be. The whole stateroom was a 520 square foot apartment with a bathroom, bedroom, living room with a built-in kitchen, and an office.

Arethusa has hearts in her eyes as she enjoyed her cheesecake. "I'm only putting up with this because you offered me cake. It's not like I was worried about you or anything," said Arethusa as Y/N rolled his eyes.

He heard it all before.

As appealing as the girl was before him, she was still certain death if he got on her bad side. Looking at the various jobs, he saw a convoy escort mission posted by a freighter captain and perked up. "Say, Arethusa. How would you like to sail with me on a new job I found?"
