ALEX BEGAN SPENDING THE NEXT FEW DAYS OUTSIDE OF THE JAPAN nationals vacation home. she didn't speak to sakusa after her drunk-ish encounter with him.

she mostly spent time with oikawa, going shopping, or out to eat, anything that he thought she'd like, they were doing.

sakusa watched her gloomily every time she walked out the door, knowing the idiot she was going out with. he was overly jealous.

on this particular night, he took her out to an authentic argentian restaurant, owned by a family oikawa knew well.  it was his host family from when he was just a transfer student in college.

they say at an outside table, enjoying the night breeze.  it was 2 days before the big game, and tooru had thought he was spending his off time pretty well.

they say there drinking margarita's, both peacefully quiet.  he watched her as she typed on her phone with her pointer finger, sipping her drink with the straw on the side of her mouth.

"these are really good," she spoke, still typing on her phone.  "i mean, alcohol and fruit in one?  so yummy."

he smiled as she spoke, feeling his heart skip a beat over her.  she looked up, smiling at him as she turned her phone off.  "sorry.  was texting my dad about my trip."

"no no," he said, smiling at her.  "that's perfectly fine.  are you enjoying yourself lexi?"

she nodded, smiling more.  "of course, i've never experienced anything like this really.  thank you for showing me everything, you're so lucky to call argentina home. and, also thank you for helping me with sakusa. he's been really irritated the last few days, i think maybe it's working."

"of course. but um, i think that you should call argentina home with me." he spoke, still smiling at her.  she made a shocked expression, sitting straight.

"oikawa.." she laughed nervously, stirring her drink with her straw.  "i don't think i'm ready to leave japan yet, and i wouldn't even have anywhere to live or anywhere to work, or know anyone.." she trailed off, tooru just shaking his head.

"you're overthinking it.  you'll know me, you
can live with me too, my house has 6 bedrooms.  plus, i can get you a job.  everything will be covered, and you'll be in luxury." he sat back, smiling at her with half-lidded eyes.

she sighed, looking around.  argentina was definitely different and breath taking, and maybe even somewhat better than her home country.  but, she wasn't ready to leave what she knew and what she wasn't finished yet, especially to not live with a boy.

"i'm flattered, tooru, truly.  but, i just don't think i'm ready yet.  besides, i don't want to live with anyone right now, i'm really dedicated to this law thing." she smiled apologetically at him, putting her hands in her lap. "i don't think you could handle all of this anyway." she joked, making him chuckle.

"i definitely could," he waved his hand to the waiter, wanting the check. "never mind all of that. let's get out of here and do our own thing."

after finding a spot, tooru parked his car at a cliff walk, turning his head to her as he turned his car off. she stared at her phone screen, debating on sending the text. "so.." he trailed off, leaning back. "want to walk or just chill here?"

"um, can i actually get out for a sec? i need to make a quick call, i promise i'll be back right away." he nodded smiling, unlocking the doors.

alex stepped out of the vehicle, walking a little bit of a distance away before pressing call. the phone rang, and rang, before it picked up, making her thoughts stop.

"hello??" she spoke, pushing her hair back. "listen, sakusa, i really need to talk to you, if you could just-"

"umm, who's this?" a girl spoke, giggling. she stopped, pausing, before furrowing her eyebrows.

"this, is alex? where's sakusa??"

"he's in the kitchen. were you needing something important orr..."

alex frowned, knowing she couldn't get upset. "nah, thanks. have a good night." she hung up, shoving her phone back in her pocket.

the whole night all she could think about was kiyoomi and how much she had been missing him. tooru was a gentleman, but he was also cocky and self-centered, and he didn't make her feel like her koomi did, plus she was really set on the friends-only thing, as he was supposed to just be helping with sakusa.

but, now that she knew he had moved on, she didn't care to keep thinking. the tears that pricked in her eyes unknowingly were blinked away, she took a deep breath and shook her head.

alex made her walk back to the car, keeping her composure. she got in, shutting the door and looking at him. he looked, a soft expression on his face.

"will you take me back to my place?" she spoke quietly, making him frown.

"already? i thought we were having a good time, i-"

"tooru," she smiled, putting her hand on his which was on his thigh. "you're overthinking it. i want you to take me back so you can come inside with me too, we can just chill and watch a movie or a show. if not you can just drop me off."

"absolutely not." he put the car in reverse, backing up and pulling out of the lot.

she smiled, turning her head to look out the window. "your hands on my thigh still. you making moves on me? thought we were just strictly business, hmm?"

she chuckled, not replying but keeping her hand there as he drove. he glanced over at her every so often, watching her as she looked out the window and the lights flashed off of her face.
