Chaewon groaned into her pillow. After two months of coming back home, she still couldn't get used to the commotion that morning traffic created. Chaewon couldn't believe she was admitting this, but she missed being woken up by Kazuha's stupid rooster. At least Aegi didn't hurt her ears like the ear-splitting honking that occurred every single morning.

Chaewon hated being woken up before her alarm. Now she had no choice but to get up despite having over enough time to get ready for work since those stupid cars honked the sleep out of her.

Chaewon yelled into her pillow before getting up and making her bed. She always regretted ignoring Sakura's generous offers to teach her how to cook, but now the feeling is hitting even harder after months of having her sister's cooking. Ever since Chaewon came back home, she'd been living off ramen and take out. Just like old times. She would go to a nearby cafe, but she didn't want to head out any earlier than she needed to. She just wanted to head to work and then come straight home. Chaewon honestly forgot how exhausting sitting hours in front of the computer was. Chaewon realized she didn't miss most things about the city and back pain was definitely not one of them.

Chaewon was stirring her ramen when her phone chimed with a notification. Chaewon set her chopsticks down and smiled to herself, unlocking her phone.

Kura: Good morning! Don't forget to eat breakfast before heading to work. Send proof btw

Chaewon rolled her eyes. Even miles away, her sister was so bossy. She snapped a picture of her ramen and typed her message.

Chaewon: it's the same thing every morning but here u go i guess

Chaewon sent her the image and put her phone on Do Not Disturb before shutting it off and putting it face down on the counter. She would read her sister's reply later during work in case she needed a good laugh.

A positive outcome from coming back was the fact that she and Sakura started to text each other more. Chaewon made it her goal to do so. She wanted to make it up to her sister for all that wasted time focusing on other things but her family. She didn't want to repeat the same mistakes again.

Chaewon glanced at her wall clock and cursed under her breath, pausing the drama she was watching on the TV and hurriedly putting her now empty bowl of ramen in the sink.

Chaewon blinked away the stinging in her eyes once the cool autumn air hit her face. She straightened out any possible wrinkles on her blazer and patted herself to make sure she had everything before she walked too far from her apartment.

Everytime she ventured out to the busy streets, she couldn't help but compare the atmosphere to the quaint little town Chaewon grew fond of over the past few months. Though not as lively as the city, the town had its own charm. The days went by at their own pace. Each little moment could be savored and enjoyed. Buildings didn't loom over the streets, blocking the warm rays of the sun.

Even while she typed away at her desk, she would have moments where she paused and gazed out the window wondering what her family and new found friends were doing. It was midday already, so Sakura was probably sitting out on the back porch reading a book while Kazuha tended the farm. Pears were now in season so Kazuha was probably out in the orchard. Yeji should be walking along the beach collecting seashells at this time too. Maybe Ryujin was out fishing and Seulgi was likely with her. Sooyoung could be at her work station, sewing a new top, maybe a new skirt. Or she could be with Wendy at the karaoke bar keeping her wife company. Somi was surely at her restaurant and maybe Giselle was there too, helping her with anything. And if the other girl wasn't, she was probably with Joohyun at the clinic. Chaewon didn't have to guess what Hyein and Eunchae were doing. Those two were most likely on their seventh prank right now, wreaking havoc all over town.
