"I-I love you. . ." Medkit said
reeling back from his words, he seemingly just realized the weight of what he had said.
"WAIT. Please. I didnt mean it. . . Don't hate me. . . Please."
He felt a surge of negative emotions, feelings of self doubt, sadness, anger. But then suddenly. . . suprise.
"I reciprocate." Subspace had exclaimed bluntly.
Medkit was in shock that he said yes, he never thought that he would even have a chance with the dashing young scientist before him.
"Really! Does that mean we're-"
before Medkit could even finish his sentence subspace interupted,
"first of all I must tell you that I must put my work before this 'relationship' we are starting, and secondly, we need to talk about this in a much more private place where others will not hear our conversation."
Medkit was thrown off but he was so happy that he didnt care
"That alright with me! As long as it makes you more comfortable."
As the hours passed medkit worked visciously to try and get a second alone with Subspace. Finally as his shift was nearing it's end he could finally go outside and talk with Subspace in private.
"Hey Meddy. It's a lovely cool night, isn't it?"
Medkit responded "It sure is! the stars are shining beautifully right now."
Subspace breathed a deep sigh before professing his thoughts,
"Don't you wish we could harness some of that energy? I mean you know how much energy stars contain but if we were to harness it we could do so much. . ."
Medkit responded near immediately,
"As your partner I know better than anyone how much you've been working towards finding a compatible energy source and honestly. . . I believe in you."
"Meddy, you may be the only person in blackrock who truly believes in me, and I need to tell you something. I've made a breakthrough. But you cannot tell anyone. It has to be a secret between you and me love. . . No matter what."
Medkit's heart fluttered and he instantly agreed
"Of course! I would do anything for you. No matter what."
Subspace grinned
"Good, because I need your help."

As a little background on the setting, this takes place before the Incident between Medkit and Subspace with medkit being much younger (21-23) and being newer to his blackrock job.
