The great halls of Asgard echoed with the weight of Odin's displeasure as he strode toward the chamber where Loki and Thor had been called to meet with him. The atmosphere crackled with tension and the air seemed to hum with the impending confrontation.
It was clear this wasn't a casual meeting.
Thor and Loki exchanged uneasy glances as they sensed Odin's approach. Both were beyond aware that they'd displeased their father.
The Allfather entered the chamber, his one eye ablaze with a mixture of anger and disappointment.

"Father," Thor greeted with a nod, attempting to maintain an air of composure. "Odin," Loki added, his silver tongue concealing any hint of concern.
Odin's gaze shifted between his two sons, a stern expression etched on his weathered face, "What folly have you committed, Thor, with your threats and anger toward Olympus? Have you forgotten the purpose of our alliance? The very alliance you were sent here to forge?"

Thor squared his jaw, meeting Odin's gaze with defiance, "These Olympians are no strangers to bouts of anger when it comes to love, Father. They were unaffected."
Odin's eye narrowed, his voice booming in the chamber, "You are here to seek an alliance, not a war. Your actions endangered the very purpose of our mission. Do not let your temper cloud your judgment, Thor."
Thor clenched his fists, frustration clear in his eyes, "It has been corrected Father, it will not happen again."

Odin shifted his attention to Loki, without so much as an acknowledgement of Thor's words, "And you, Loki," Odin said with a deep, disapproving sigh, "You swore an oath of servitude to Aphrodite. Have you lost your senses? Such alliances are built on trust, not deceptive pacts."
Loki smirked, his eyes gleaming with mischief, "Father, it's a strategic move. Aphrodite's influence can be a powerful asset in securing Olympus's allegiance."

Odin's gaze bore into Loki's, a storm of disappointment raging within him, "Strategic or not, your oath was not born of selflessness but of self-interest. You seek personal gain, and that is not the path to true leadership."
Loki's grin faded as Odin continued, "You've sidestepped the trials that were set for you. This decision does not fulfil any worthy quest but only serves your own desires. You haven't passed that trial."

A heavy silence hung in the air as Odin's words echoed through the chamber. Finally, he spoke with commanding authority, "Loki, undo this oath. Both of you must mend the fractures you've created and the chaos you've caused. Our alliance with Olympus is built on more than the whims of a moment. It requires sacrifice and commitment. Do not forget the greater good, for Asgard's future depends on it."

His head bowed, Thor echoed a quiet, "Yes Father." He knew it was easiest to simply agree rather than explain – again – that the outburst wasn't his fault or even that the Olympians had been quite tolerant of it.

Loki, on the other hand, seethed with anger, "Undo the oath?" Loki scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "Father, you speak as if I've pledged my undying loyalty to some insignificant mortal. Aphrodite is a goddess of considerable influence and my allegiance to her serves a purpose far beyond your narrow vision."

Odin's gaze remained unwavering and he spoke sternly, "Purpose or not, Loki, you have jeopardized the very foundation of our alliance with your self-serving actions. Such recklessness is unacceptable."
Loki rose from his seat, his movements fluid and graceful, a dangerous glint in his eyes, "Unacceptable? I tire of your constant lectures on nobility and selflessness. Asgard's survival requires cunning and adaptability, not blind adherence to outdated principles."

Odin's one eye narrowed, a silent warning in his gaze, "You mistake cunning for treachery, Loki. Your actions threaten not only this alliance but the very fabric of Asgard itself. Do not underestimate the consequences of your choices."
Loki's anger flared and he stepped forward, his voice laced with venom, "Consequences? You speak of consequences while your favoured son throws tantrums and threatens war with Olympus. Perhaps it is your judgment that should be questioned, not mine."

Odin's expression remained stoic, but the tension in the room grew palpable, "I am your king and your father. Your choices reflect not only upon yourself but upon the entirety of Asgard. Do not test my patience, Loki."

Loki's lips curled into a wicked smile, his anger transforming into a bitter amusement, "I will not undo my oath, for it serves a purpose you cannot comprehend. I will not obey you. I have been invited to stay here as we tackle a greater issue than the ones that have your focus and I will do so."

With those defiant words, Loki turned on his heel, his green and gold robes billowing behind him, and he exited the chamber, leaving behind a seething tension that lingered like a storm waiting to unleash its fury. Odin watched his son leave, a deep furrow etched on his brow, knowing that the challenges they faced were far from over.

Thor avoided speaking, avoided invoking more of Odin's anger. Instead it was Odin who spoke to him, "Do you know what he's up to?"
Thor shook his head, "I can't pretend to understand a thing he does or why."
Odin nodded, "Whatever it is, find out. It does not bode well for us." Again Thor nodded, "Yes Father."
Now, between the two of them, Odin took a moment to casually remark, "Zeus is quite pleased with Freyr and Namira, who've apparently worked hard for this alliance. What has been your part in this?"

Thor frowned at this, "I've been trying Father, there's no clear task for me here. With Zeus's powers being like my own and Ares as their God of War, there's little need for my expertise in battle or lightning. I've helped out where I can and worked on socialising, getting to know the structure of their pantheon and the roles they all play in it. I have certainly not done nothing."
Odin's lips held the hint of a smile at that, "I only inquired after your work."
Thor's gaze lifted to meet his father's, "It's clear what you were suggesting."

The Allfather turned to him then, offering his hand to his son. Thor hesitated a moment before taking the offered hand, allowing his father to draw him into an awkward embrace. Odin slapped him on the back, "I have faith in you, boy."
Withdrawing then he suggested, "Keep an eye on your brother, whatever he's up to it can't be good."

Thor nodded, knowing the truth in that statement. With that, their conversation was over and Thor excused himself to prepare for the festivities of the night with a pit in his stomach.
Whatever was about to happen, Thor was sure it wouldn't be good.
