Neo: Hello?

Neo's Father (on the phone call) : Son.

Neo was stunned as he heard his father calling him "son" it's been quite a long time since he heard his father talking to him in a calm and cool manner. The size of his pupils increases just after hearing that warm voice. Whereas Charles was anxious about Neo's expressions.

Neo: Yes dad.

Neo's Father: Are you doing well?

Neo: Yes...

He didn't answer in long sentences as deep down thoughts from yesterday was evolving around his mind.

Neo's Father: Did you really have a hard time?

Neo: ........

Neo's Father: Father is ashamed of his actions son. It's not like I hate the fact that you like guys rather than girls. It's just I - I need the society's approval over my actions, my family's actions.

Neo: .......

Neo's Father: I have been running behind their approval when I was around your age. I mean that is what we have been taught by our parents and I expected both of my sons to do the same. It wasn't my intention to hurt you or your feelings. For me I was just discplining my child.

Neo: But dad..

Neo's Father: I know- I know that's sounds like an excuse but I have always wanted best for my sons. It was hard for me to walk on my own path against the society's thoughts. When Tim approached me after all these years I wanted to do change the things between us. I remembered you like him so I tried to sought things between us.

Neo (calmly) : And you did that worse.

Neo's Father: I know I'm stupid. But you never communicated with me. Hearing what you had been through the past these years from someone else's mouth made me feel I lost the trust and connection with my sons. Then who was I protecting all these years? What was I even doing all these years for my family? My bullshit mindset was only hurting you all...

Neo's heart was filled with sorrow. After hearing his dad being open up with him he felt a bit strange. He didn't know how to react all he could do was stand there hearing him quietly.

Neo's Father: I'm sure an apology wouldn't do you any better but can you please try to wash out all the negativity about me from your heart? Let's work on our relationship. I'll try to restore all the happy and healthy things we uninstalled. Should we?

Neo suddenly remembered the line read in one of his books, "A quarrel is only over when both sides can forgive and forget." In his situation he wanted to forgive forget and move on so that he could give his mind some space of positivity. He knew he wouldn't be able to completely erase all the traces of that horrifying past but he could at least try to replace them with beautiful things now. Not for his father, not for his family just for his own tranquillity.

The tension on his face dropped, he passed a warm smile as replied back,

Neo: Let's make things back to normal dad.

It was the whole new beginning for Neo to amble on a slow, relaxed pace.

As He hung up the phone, Charles asked him to come inside and discuss the details with him.

The movement of eyebrows showed the emotions of worry on Charles face.
