Chapter 23

Payu finally reached Rain's house and left him there after an awkward silence, since Rain wanted to thank him for his service without knowing what words to use. After that, Payu called his uncle Porchay and asked him to meet at a café. His uncle obviously accepted, he never missed the opportunity to spend some time with his nephews after all.

Porchay waited for a few minutes his nephew's arrival. He hugged him tight as he saw him and led him inside. They chose something to eat and then Porchay, after a short and absolutely normal conversation, finally posed the actual question that he prepared since the beginning.

"Is anything wrong, Venice?"

"Well... I didn't want to talk about this with my fathers and I thought that you would be the most... prepared person who could actually answer to me" Payu started.

"Yeah, I cannot blame you for your choice. I can't picture Porsche nor Tankhun having a serious conversation with anyone. Go on, you know you can tell me everything" Porchay responded with his usual cute smile.

"There is a person I like..."

"I already know about Som"

"I'm not talking about Som..." Payu interrupted him and looked at the plate in front of him.

"Oh... well, no matter what the tradition of the unfaithful bastards of this family is, I must tell you that I cannot tolerate cheating" Porchay added.

"That's what I thought. I felt guilty when I found out that I had feelings for Rain, I thought that Som didn't deserve to have an disloyal boyfriend, but then..."

"Then?" Porchay asked confused.

"Then I discovered that he has been cheating on me with a guy at the farm, and that the other workers already knew that. I need to break up with him, but at the same time I want him to go through the same mix of terrible feelings I had to endure because of him" Payu explained.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot support you in this. What you're seeking is revenge, and revenge never leads to a good ending. You have to talk to Som, you have to explain what you saw and only after your relationship is over for good, then you can move on, otherwise you aren't better than him" Porchay responded.

"How can you be so..."

"Venice, before you say something else, I better remind you that I went through much harder things. I know that you feel terrible because Som cheated on you, but I can assure you that he has loved you, and this is way better than just feeling used by someone who never had feelings for you in the first place" Porchay interrupted him again.

He was right, that was exactly what Rain was feeling, he hid in a room of his apartment, switched off his phone and sat down in a corner to cry after such a revelation. If only he could know that there was someone ready to give him the love he deserved...

Som eventually woke up, he thought about calling Payu on his phone, but he knew that in such a situation he wouldn't pick up. He decided to go back to the city, even though he had to wait until his sister was asleep, since she feared that after such a shock, a long drive could be a risk.
