" My mind is fooling me."
-BrookeBrooke laid staring straight up at her ceiling, lost in thought to the fact she's realized that she's in love with the person she's supposed to hate. This revelation has been eating away at her for the past few hours. She figured it was possibly just her mind thinking about the whole pajama incident that has her thinking that she is in love with Lexus. She tried to convince herself that this was just her mind playing tricks on her. She leaned over to check the time and saw it was only 2 in the morning which made her groan. Deciding some water will help clear her head, she got out of bed and went downstairs into the kitchen to pour a glass of water. As she watched the tap run, she could feel herself getting sleepier by the minute.
Once her glass was full, she slowly made her way back up to her room and closed the door behind her and set the glass on her bedside table, taking a deep breath. "There is no way I could possibly have a crush on Lexus." She thought to herself as she stared at the wall, seemingly endlessly. It felt as if her entire world as she knew was crumbling into bits and pieces that she barely had any hold on. To get a grasp on her new found reality, she took a sip from the glass of water by her bed and proceeded to lie down, her eyes directed themselves toward the ceiling.
Her head was filled with so many thoughts, it was difficult for her to focus on one thing without her brain refocusing her attention elsewhere. However, no matter how much she tried to think about something else, her thoughts would end up right back to focusing on her newly developed crush. She'd never had the need or urge to question anything about her sexuality, until now and it really made her question a lot of things about herself. This entire ordeal really made her think about much she has to discover about who she is in relativity to herself as a person. Finally after what seemed like forever, Brooke closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
When she awoke, the sunlight was beading in through her curtains as she rubbed her eyes. She checked the time again to see that it was 9 in the morning and she slowly slipped out of bed. Heading downstairs, she saw there was no sign of Lexus and figured that they'd must have left while she was still asleep. She breathed a heavy sigh and continued down into the kitchen. She sifted through the fridge in search of anything to eat and settled on just going through her day without breakfast. Brooke made her way into her living room and sat down on the sofa, her phone in hand. She scrolled through social media aimlessly, sinking lower into the sofa as she went along. Brooke yawned as she continued to focus on her screen, until she came across a familiar face. It was Gray's account and she curiously decided to scroll through it, sighing to herself from boredom. Despite it being a weekend, Brooke had absolutely nothing to do apart from being at home all day. She was tempted to call Lex and have them come over again but she's still coming to terms with the fact she likes them and isn't quite ready to face them yet, given those circumstances. Yet, she also wanted to spend more time with them as a result of developing feelings for them, so she caved and dialed their number and waited patiently for an answer until the call connected. "Oh, hello Brooke. Do you need anything?" Lexus asked from the other line. Their voice sounded a mixture of tired and happy to hear that Brooke is calling them willingly now. Brooke said she didn't need anything but asked if they wanted to just come over to her house to get to know each other better. This proposition excited Lex and sooner than later, they were on their way over and arrived within 20 minutes.
Brooke was waiting on the couch when they walked through the door and into the living room, sitting down across from her. She smiled at their presence and began the conversation and soon it seemed as if they were talking for hours.Brooke learnt that they had a few things in common and she couldn't help the red tinge to her cheeks every time they laughed or agreed with something she said. Sooner than later, night was approaching and Lexus had to leave. As they were heading out of the door, Brooke waved them off and watched as they left and closed the front door, leaning her back against it. Today was a good day for her and she retired to her bedroom that night, feeling several positive emotions.
