X ran into the demon goop infested castle, trying not to think about Fm. He knew this plan would piss him off, but Fm had been injured pretty badly the last time they'd followed one of X's premonitions and X wanted him to recover. Fm was no longer bedridden, and X knew he'd follow anyways, but he would do what he could to get Fm more time out of danger.

X had had one of his premonitions tell him to come here. Or else 4 could be lost, or so his vision had suggested. He often wished his future sight would give him more information. Sometimes it did, sometimes he knew exactly what would happen, but this time it was just a feeling. A very strong feeling he wished he could disregard, but past experience indicated he wouldn't like the results if he did so.

He had managed to phase through the gunk(and toad....?) blocking the front entrance, and at a glance the main entryway was empty though damaged: some rubble had fallen from the ceiling. There had been a fight here. Hopefully there were no more threats in the vicinity, but he didn't have time to be cautious.. He didn't want to be here when the castle sank. The large double doors at the top of the stairs had been left open by whomever had last gone through them, probably the trio who'd originally gone after 4, so it seemed reasonable to assume that was where X needed to go.

In a hurried jog he made his way across the room and up the stairs, but when he stepped through the doorway he let out a startled yelp as something suddenly wrapped around his leg and yanked him back, flinging him across the hall. He landed with a crash on his back, having no time to try and correct his landing. Groaning in pain, he opened his eyes, just in time to see a vine made of murky sludge flying at him at an alarming speed. He managed to roll over just in time to avoid another yeeting and launched himself up and away from where he'd landed near the entrance, gaining just a moment to breathe. As he landed near the door that led to Bob-omb Battlefield, X was finally able to take stock of his assailant.

His attacker appeared to be a scraggly looking tree made out of the bizarre goop that had overtaken Peaches castle, disgusting bare branches extending upward from a trunk that stood in the center of the sun rug, under the skylight. The thing that had grabbed him was a long gooey looking vine that protruded unnaturally at a right angle from partway up the trunk. It was currently retracting back from where he'd just been. Shivers ran down his back as he realized how quickly this thing had appeared after he'd passed through the room. He hadn't noticed a trace of it when he'd entered and apparently he may have walked right over it.

As more vines shot out of the trunk, X knelt down and pressed his palms to the floor, invoking a white sigil to take shape beneath him, and a bubble of light to subsequently form around him. When his shield was struck, it thrummed loudly, but held. Soon more vines sprouted out of the tree and began to wail against his barrier relentlessly but it held strong.

X slowly took in a deep breath, as he tried to figure out what to do. Most of his abilities required some time to channel, so for as long as this onslaught continued it would be difficult to gain the upper hand. Maybe if he used Puppeteer.... No, too inefficient, he would save that as a last resort. Maybe if-

X's thoughts were interrupted by an explosion and a UFTT(Unidentified Flying Thicc Toad) flying across the room. When X looked over to see who it was his heart sank a little, and he sighed.

"X?! What the hell were you thinking?" X wasn't happy to hear this particular voice, and Fm sounded about as pissed as X had expected him to be. He stood in the entryway, pointing with his good arm at X as he yelled at him. His right arm was in a sling. "I thought we agreed you tell me when your crazy future sight tells you to put yourself in danger!" Yea this was about what X had expected.
