Cameron Comforts you

WARNING: Pet Death
I cried so much while writing this

"I can't watch." You whimpered out to your boyfriend Cameron, as you two stood over your 15 year old dog Bella. Bella had slowly been getting worse over the past few years and you knew this would happen one day.

The day was just nonstop pampering and love towards Bella from me and Cameron. Her last bath, her last meal, the last time we could all cuddle up to the Border Collie in our bed and tell her how amazing she was despite the fact she couldn't hear or see us. Jaxx, Cameron's dog, got to help out with her last day too, and I was grateful-

But we all knew it wouldn't be the same.

I kissed the top of Bella's head and through my heavy sobbing, I said "I- I love you Bella."

She could at least feel my breathing on her and she let out a soft whimper. I turned around from the table and held onto Cameron tightly as he held me close, him being the only other one I trusted to be in here with me. He stroked my hair gently as i could hear the doctor prepping the needle.

Cameron tensed up and held me closer as the needle must have entered Bella. I completely broke down and lost all the feeling in my legs, nearly falling as Cameron held me up.

"It's okay. It's okay. She's better now." Cameron whispered, knowingly lying to me. He knew that she would've been better in my arms.

Cameron carried me out to the truck and laid me in the backseat, leaving me for a minute to work out some paperwork for Bella while I handled my emotions. We agreed beforehand that she would be cremated, because I couldn't put her in some hole or let the vet do whatever they do when the owners don't want to hold funerals for their dogs.

Cam walked back and sat in the front seat. I crawled up quickly and cowered into his arms after he put his seatbelt on. He held me close and kissed my forehead before helping me buckle into the middle seat. Something under me squeaked and I pulled it out to reveal Bella's favorite toy Bookie.

"Cameron!!" I screeched and waved the toy in his face. "Take it to Bella. Take it to her now. I want her to have it!" I sobbed as Cam kissed my hand and nodded, taking the toy into the vets office quickly. He got back in and started driving us to our apartment as I sat there curled up, sobbing. He held my hand tightly as he drove, his thumb running over my knuckles.

"I-I miss her." I gasped and stuttered out. Cam signed sadly and nodded. "We will still have her in our hearts babe. We will always love her"
