Chapter 7
I helped my mother in setting up the table as she was preparing dinner. I was honestly really happy that Phoebe forgave me even though I was the cause of her crying the last time.
I walked to the kitchen to get the cutlery, when I turned around I saw another figure that I dreaded to see.
?:Well look who's back
A:Emma I don't have the luxury of time to deal with you right now, okay
E:(E=Emma) Aww still upset that I stole your little man, well let me tell you something, he is mine now
A:Okay then, take him I don't care, he talks better than he can fuck, enjoy your leftovers hunny
I told her enjoying the pent up words that were rather true we only did the deed for about 2 to 3 times. And so I was really grateful for my work getting me out of issues like that.
I need to get back to work and continue my independence. But anyway I set the cutlery down on the table and at the same time, my father and Emma sat down while I helped my mother with placing the food on the table.
It was a bit awkward and really quiet while the only thing making a sound was the cutlery hitting against the plates. I saw my mother look at my father with an expecting look on her face as if she was telling him something.
He cleared his throat before saying,
R:Umm.. listen kids we were invited to go to the Crown ball in 4 days time and we would like for both of you to join us there.
He said as more of a command rather than a question. So we really didn't have a choice. And I know one person I'll have to make amends with someone or some people.
Ph:And who knows, Emma might also get married.
I could tell the excitement in her tone when she said that. I couldn't break her heart now she's just too happy. And I can't break her heart again.
E:Well that won't be necessary
Ph: Ohh hunny you found someone already?
Well now or never...
A:It's Johnathan
I heard the utensils drop on to the plates and a shocked gasp from Phoebe. I could visibly see the sadness and disappointment between my parents as they looked at us.
R:Amber to your room right now, Phoebe follow her.
I hear the authority in his voice as he spoke to us.
And in doing so to avoid any other troubles, I stood up and walked up to my bedroom as my mother followed. Closing the door behind us we could hear my father scolding Emma for being a ' reckless child with no morals or any respect for the family'.I just really wonder why she hates me so much I mean she is the one causing these few awkward moments between us and for her not being at home, while also not caring for anyone but herself. I really did try to be a good older sister to her but seems that no one can save any unrepairable things in life.
