Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a cheerful and bright girl named Smruti. She was in the 8th grade and shared an inseparable bond with her best friend, Madhu. Madhu, in turn, had a boyfriend named Abhishek, fondly known as Abhi.

Abhi, having noticed Smruti from a distance, decided to take a step forward and sent her a friend request on Facebook. However, to Abhi's disappointment, Smruti declined the request. Not one to give up easily, Abhi shared his feelings with Madhu, hoping for some assistance.

Madhu, being the supportive friend that she was, convinced Smruti to accept Abhi's friend request, assuring her that there was nothing to worry about. With Madhu's intervention, the trio began an unexpected friendship that soon unfolded into something beautiful.

Madhu, mischievous at heart, started creating situations to make Abhi slightly jealous. She would often talk about her male friends in a way that made Abhi uneasy. In response, Abhi decided to enlist Smruti's help and requested her to act as his boyfriend in front of Madhu. Initially hesitant, Smruti eventually agreed after Abhi explained how much it meant to him.

As the act continued at school, Smruti and Abhi found themselves growing closer. Despite it being a pretend relationship, they discovered genuine companionship and comfort in each other. Smruti, however, kept her feelings concealed, while on the other hand, Abhi's fondness for her deepened into love.

Days passed, and the charade continued until one night when Abhi couldn't contain his emotions any longer. He mustered the courage to send Smruti a text, requesting her to call him as there was something important to discuss. However, being late at night, Smruti declined and suggested they talk in the morning

Smruti, waking up to the bright morning sun, reached for her phone to check the messages. As she scrolled through her notifications, the name 'Abhishek' caught her eye. Wondering why he needed to talk urgently, she decided to call him and get to the bottom of it.

With a curious yet calm voice, Smruti initiated the call. Abhi, on the other end, took a moment to gather his thoughts. His heart pounded with nervousness, not knowing how Smruti would react to his revelation. After a deep breath, he began, "Smruti, there's something I need to tell you."

Smruti, ever the understanding friend, encouraged him to share. "Go ahead, Abhi. You can talk to me about anything," she assured him.

Abhi, with a mix of hesitation and sincerity in his voice, confessed, "I've been feeling something more than just friendship for you, Smruti. It's not just part of the act we've been putting on. I genuinely like you, and I couldn't keep it to myself any longer."

There was a moment of silence on the call as Smruti processed Abhi's words. She could sense the vulnerability in his voice, and a flurry of thoughts raced through her mind. She had grown closer to Abhi during their charade, and his revelation added a layer of complexity to their relationship.

In that moment, Smruti decided to be honest with herself and Abhi. "Abhi," she began, "I appreciate your honesty. It means a lot that you trust me with your feelings. Give me some time to think about this, okay? It's a surprise, and I need to process it."

Abhi, relieved that he had finally shared his feelings, agreed, "Sure, Smruti. Take your time. I understand it's unexpected."

As the day unfolded, Smruti couldn't shake off the mix of emotions swirling within her. The school day passed, and she and Abhi continued their friendship as usual, although an unspoken tension lingered beneath the surface.

That evening, as Smruti reflected on Abhi's revelation, she realized the depth of their connection. She appreciated the honesty and vulnerability he had shown, and she found herself grappling with her own emotions. As the night fell, she decided to send Abhi a message.

"Abhi," she typed, "I've thought about what you said. Let's meet tomorrow and talk in person. There's much to discuss, and I value our friendship too much to let it be affected."

With a sense of anticipation and apprehension, Smruti hit send, leaving Abhi waiting for their meeting with a mixture of hope and uncertainty.
