I thought that if he had paid more attention and not overlooked the loss of that silly bracelet, or if he had walked a bit faster despite the frosty air, we might have avoided the situation altogether.

I always thought he looked a bit lonely, I mean the death of his wife -my mother- took a toll on all of us but I never thought it would've lead to this.

He didn't even want to go but I always wanted to go ice skating on the river and how could he refuse his dear daughters request.

And he was even stupid enough to try it himself...

That's not what happened...

The fog was crawling closer towards the mill and instead of going inside I decided it would be a good time to get herbs so I took the pouch and made my way to the Kiltret, and it was then I heard my fathers screams. I turned the boat around abruptly. Maybe to abruptly as I went flying into the freezing cold water and plunged down immediately. I couldn't move but I heard the struggles and agonizing groans of my father when a hand gripped my shoulder.

"This is a bit horrendous isn't it?" My dad took the notepad I was writing on and read the two paragraphs.

"It's only because I have a creative mind," I say in a matter of factually tone and he chuckles.

"It would be a shame if this was true." he muttered as he handed me back the book.

"DAD!" I exclaimed, "This is all fictional. You think I'd ever leave the house without telling you... and the Kiltret of all places"

"It's a good read either way," I roll my eyes and he takes my hand "Speaking of your mother"

He leads me down the stairs of the old, small, rundown, mill we are currently living in and limps over to the chest we normally use as a bench. He grabs a key from his tattered pocket that is barely keeping together and unlocks it.

"Whats in there—" I trail off as he brings out the most beautiful sapphire jewelry set I'd ever seen.. Well the first jewelry set I'd ever seen

"It was your mothers," he tries to stand up and trips over a loose floor bored we've been meaning to fix for weeks. I rush to his side as he tries to pick up the things he dropped. I help him as and I pick up the bracelet. It was silver and had that little heart thing where it was meant to make a circle, but for the heart it had a beautiful sapphire heart.

I looked into it and a sense of calmness washed over me... It would've matched my mothers eyes...

I snap out of the trance and turn around. "Here Da-"

Turns out I'm stupid as well and tripped over the same loose bored except it was facing towards the door which meant the bracelet went flying out the little slip under the door and into the grass.

I looked at my dad and went running after the bracelet...
