It felt as if someone possessed me. With something i didn't understand, what was this feeling tickling in my stomach, itching my bones. Making my knees go limp, and my heart to fail.
Her dark brown skin, twinkling in the sunlight, her complexion glowing in the dewy sunshine. Her blond hair falling past her busts, the end spiraling into small curls I wanted to touch, to feel, to caress her cheek, and stare endlessly into her light green eyes. What could possess me to feel such way?
I watched as she tended to the flowers, with her gentle touch. It was as if I was looking through the world through a frame of pink glass, peaking through the window of no return.
I was enchanted by her, smitten, somehow. I needed to tell her how I felt, I needed her to know I am in possession of such feelings that words cannot explain, only actions. As I left the darkness of the tree's shadow, slowly stepping into the light. My heart pounced in something i haven't felt before, something i couldn't figure out, something i couldn't place a finger on. I took a step closer, feeling the unwanted need to touch her soft skin, and to be held in her warm embrace. Her head lifted, her eyes connected with mine that made me in need to grip onto something.
I didn't think about the consequences, the what ifs didn't even enter my mind, like I was some mad man. I took a few steps closer, staring deeply into her eyes, I could sense a tinge of shock, of confusion. She blinked twice, taking a slow step back.
"Persephone?" I asked, bewitched by her eyes, and the gaze they held. What was wrong with me!? What was going on? I would never do this, I couldn't fall in love with her. But, yet, why did my footsteps not falter?
Her light green eyes widened, and her kind lips parted. "Who are you?" her voice sounded like oozing honey, and milk. Soft and tender, gentle and kind. Something so sincere, I didn't even know if my ears were worthy to hear such a thing. I took one last step forward, and held her gaze.
I swallowed once, debating if I should do something so foolish. This whole thing was foolish, bizarre, unbelievable. I clenched my jaw, and picked her up in my arms.
Her frame compared to mine, tiny. She was pressed closely into my chest, her head resting on me so she could hear my heartbeat. This was what she was doing to me, my heart couldn't stop trembling. She gasped, making my knees buckle. She was going to fall in love with me, she was going to be my queen. This is the bride I have chosen, and no one could stand in my way. No, not even Zeus.
