THE NEXT few months would be Fauna's eighteenth birthday. Her parents had hired personal assistant and event's coordinator to plan for such celebration. Fauna had tried to insist that she liked a small, familial, intimate party. Ayaw niya nang bongga at maraming tao ang dadalo. Not that she didn't like the people, but it would be a hassle for since many preparations to organize. Then most of the invited guests would be people in business.

Gaya ngayon nasa isang designer botique sila ni Minty para pumili ng gown niya. It was weekend and she had planned to have her deserving rest day after the hell week of semestral examination. Graduating students didn't have the privilege to rest properly in reality.

After the delibaration that took eternity, Fauna, the assistant's designer, and Minty chose the forest green fairy Belle inspired gown since Minty pointed out it would represent her character since she liked books so much. Nagagandahan din siya sa designs and crystals sa dress kaya iyon din ang pinili niya.

Her debut would be in shade of green. Her favorite color. The event would be held in one of the luxurious hotel in Palawan, their family's hometown. Her mother insisted it as well as to be the venue of her Debutante's Shoot.

She really appreciated this, but imagined the hassle kahit nagsisimula pa nga lang. Mamayang hapon ay may cake testing pa siya sa Clarkson, a premium service to VVIP customers. Sa isang franchise ng Clarkson sa loob ng BGC ay may nag-iisang cake shop doon. Dahil kaibigan ng kanyang Kuya ang may-ari kaya ni-rekomenda nito.

Hindi pa nga kumalahati ang araw ay parang pagod na si Fauna.

"Titingnan ko kung masasamahan kita whole day, Fau ha. May lakad si Ate ngayong hapon kasama mga friends niya, walang magbabantay kay Lola ko," saad ni Minty nang nasa Starbucks na sila, nagkakape dahil nag-crave na naman ng kape ang kaibigan.

Araw-araw na lang nagka-kape ito. Tsk.

"It's okay, Min. I already appreciate this. Saka naiintindihan ko rin naman na kailangan din ng Ate mo na maggagala-gala dahil deserve niya rin iyon after heavy work," she smiled at Minty. Dalawang magkakapatid lamang si Minty at Ate Mia na nagtratrabaho sa isang accounting firm. Ulila sa mga magulang at iyong Lola ng mga ito sa ama ang nag-aalaga sa mga ito noong grade school pa lang si Minty.

Their grandmother had been admitted three months ago because of stroke, thus needed some utmost care now.

"Baka may time rin si Kuya mamaya. Hindi ko nasubukang magpasama kasi kailangan ko rin siyang pagpahingahin. Alam mo na mga kapatid natin, kumakayod..."

"Text mo na ngayon para malaman natin kung may time ba."

"Natutulog pa 'yon."

"Just leave a message."

Ayaw niya talagang nag-te-text sa Kuya niya kapag alam niyang tulog ito dahil kahit pagod ito ay maliit na kaluskos lang ay agad itong nagigising. But anyway...baka naka-silent mode naman ito.

Kuyaaa Fabfab 😏💙: Kuya, pasama ako sa Clarkson for the cake testing. Plss.

Minsan, ito ang disadvantage na may ganitong pamilya. Hindi nakakasama sa mga ganito si Mommy at Daddy. Iyong Kuya naman niya ay minsan lang nagkaka-time sa kanya simula noong nag-medical school na ito. They loved her so much. They had given her everything. Even those things that she didn't need, but sometimes, she felt lonely experiencing this. Heartbreaking even.

Kaya nasa bahay na lang talaga siya most of her time because it didn't require her parent's time. Good for her because she liked the company of books.

She would not expect a positive response from her brother. Dahil hindi niya hawak ang oras ng kanyang Kuya at hindi niya alam ang schedule nito tuwing weekend lalo pa at maraming hobbies ang Kuya niya.
