Demond Cole is my best friend, since moving to Kersville he's been there to help me. I guess you could say it took me by surprise how close we got in such a short period of time. I mean we hang out all the time, not only when looking for ghost or ghouls.

"Desmond?" I whispered, not wanting to alert anyone, see we were staking out the park, Desmond thought we might catch some cupid haunting the park in time for Valentines.

He took his eyes off the binoculars and looked to me without saying a word.

"It's cold, I don't think anything's out here" I told him but he went back to looking,

"Come on Andres"

He always got me into this stuff, but it was getting late and I was so done.

"Desmond" I whispered again, but this time he didn't turn.

"I'm gonna go now, I need to pee" I stood up to leave but I felt him grab my arm, not hard though.

"Andres, I won't keep you too long- please don't go?" He asked me, I felt a shock in my chest as I wanted to protest but couldn't, I sucked it up and sat back down.

I also peeked out the bushes, but neither I or Desmond saw a thing. Probably because what kind of ghost looks for couples to haunt at night.

After a while Desmond got up with a sigh, he reached his hand out to help me up,

"Heh, Desmond there's no way a Cupid is gonna find a couple this late" I chuckled and took his hand.

Or at least I tried to because when I went to grab it he pulled it away at the last second and pointed to the sky.

"Andres! I have an idea."

Oh no. That's all I could think, because when Desmond Cole had an idea there's reason to panic.

"What?" I said with a twinge of resentment, it was way pass my bedtime and I was gonna get cranky soon. It didn't help that Desmond's idea was probably gonna get me in some sort of pickle.

"I'll be at your house tomorrow morning!" Desmond snapped and ran in the other direction. The direction away from our houses.

I quickly turned, "Where are you going!" I shouted.

No answer, heh, that kid was something.

I couldn't decide if I should follow him or not, I mean It was cold, late, i wanted to go home... but Desmond... he's my pal I could just leave him. I reluctantly ran in the direction he went and kept following.

Let me tell you, that kid can run! Because it hadn't been longer than ten seconds and I already had lost him, so, I went home and went to bed obviously. Desmond could keep me out with him but no way was I staying outside alone, in the dark.
